A moment of gratitude,
Kind words.
2020 has been a difficult year and many of us have been asking each other are you okay?
As time goes on it is important that we continue to care about each other and importantly show each other we care.
For today's moment of gratitude I invite you to think about a time when someone said something kind to you.
Maybe they sent you a good luck or thinking of you message before a big test or appointment or maybe it was a get well soon text when you were feeling under the weather.
Kind words and kind thoughts touch the heart.
When my friend calls me out of the blue just to ask how I am it shows me that they care and that they want that connection with me.
I reached out to someone recently who was struggling and they told me it was really kind of me.
The kind words were just hi how are you?
Kind words are often simple but they are meaningful and they create connections between people.
When we say hello to someone we pass on the street we create a connection of kindness there too.
Kind words can also be specific maybe somebody complimented you on your work or told you that you're a good friend or a good listener.
Kind words can also be used to express our gratitude such as thanking someone for thinking of you letting them know that you appreciate their thoughtfulness.
We can express gratitude when someone helps us out or does something for us and gratitude makes the receiver feel appreciated and that you care about them.
I know during lockdown people thought about me when they were out shopping and they found something they knew I'd been looking for.
Maybe there is a time someone was thoughtful in thinking of you.
By taking time to focus on these moments through a practice of gratitude we savour the positive feelings that they give us.
Feelings of love and of the care that goes into those kind words.
Today have gratitude for the kind words that someone has given you but also take a moment to give a kind word to someone else to give them the feeling of love and of care and a connection of kindness.
Until next time always have gratitude.
