A moment of gratitude.
Patience.
I was hoping to bring you a special episode of the podcast last week,
But as of yet,
Things haven't quite fallen into place.
But this delay got me thinking about the subject of patience.
I started an online course recently,
Which due to the current circumstances with the coronavirus is using Zoom.
The tutor had never hosted a class on Zoom before,
As I'm sure is the case for many tutors who would normally teach in a classroom setting.
She encountered a number of technical problems throughout the class.
Nobody said anything.
There was no negativity.
All the students gave her time to work out how to do what she needed to do.
The students were both patient and understanding.
Not only do we have patience with others,
Others have patience with us.
So today,
I invite you to think about having gratitude for patience.
People are often patience with us when we're late,
If we forget something or if we get something wrong.
I know that if I don't reply to a message straight away,
It's highly likely that I will forget about it.
And if it's an email,
Then it's even more likely as it gets lost amongst the deluge of emails that never seem to stop coming through.
I can think of many occasions when people have been patient with me for forgetting or taking a long time to reply to a message.
It may be a time when you were learning something.
I used to work in an office and I can remember a time when a colleague was trying to teach me a complex process.
He had a lot of patience,
As to me,
It was just a lot of confusing instructions and numbers.
He was able to smile and even have a laugh with me as I struggled to understand it.
Another way to look at patience is when we are waiting for something.
Whilst I can be very impatient,
Sometimes it can be a case of good things come to those who wait.
Maybe the job that really boosted your career,
Someone special coming into your life,
Or the house which is in a far better location than the other 200 you have previously viewed.
That may have happened to me.
So today,
Have gratitude for patience,
Be it someone's patience with you,
Or patience for something that took a while to come along,
But was worth the wait.
If you're on social media,
I would love to know what you chose as your moment of gratitude today.
We are a moment of gratitude on Facebook,
And at Moment Gratitude on Twitter and Instagram.
I read all of your comments.
Always have gratitude.
