If you’ve ever wondered what identity shifting actually means, this video gives you a simple way to understand it beyond manifestation, visualization, or positive thinking. We often focus on what we want to create, but identity shifting asks a deeper question: who is the self actually creating that new life? You’ll learn how your identity shapes your thoughts, emotions, choices, and actions — and how small repeated moments can help you become the version of you who can live the life you desire.

A while back I was sitting in a cafe.

And I was working on my first ever course on identity shifting.

I had my laptop open,

Notes were everywhere,

And I kept thinking to myself,

How do I explain and teach identity shifting in a way that will actually make sense?

And then this older man walked in and sat down right next to me.

He had his black coffee.

He had a corn muffin.

He had his newspaper under his arm.

And I was fascinated by him,

Because he had this grounded presence,

Like he was really comfortable in who he was.

So I thought to myself.

.

.

If this man turned over and asked me,

What are you working on?

How would I actually go about explaining identity shifting to him?

So I imagine turning to him and saying,

Well,

You heard of the law of attraction and manifestation,

Perhaps.

Which teaches you to think better thoughts,

To raise your vibration,

To focus on the outcome,

To visualize,

Visualize,

And visualize.

And those things have some real benefit to them.

But at some point.

.

.

A deeper question will emerge.

Who is the self?

That is actually creating this new life I want.

Because we don't actually create from what we want.

We create from who we believe we are.

So identity shifting is the practice of changing the way you see yourself.

So your thoughts,

Your emotions,

Your choices,

And your actions.

Begin to match the life that you want to live.

So you may want to be more confident.

But if you identify as someone whose strengths Avoid.

Or waits for permission.

Your nervous system will pull you back.

To the same familiar patterns.

You may want to be more consistent.

But if you identify as someone who.

.

.

Always keep this up.

Hodds has a hard time taking action.

Or overthinks.

Then consistency is going to feel like a fight for you.

This is why identity matters.

Your identity is like the software program running in the background of your life.

It determines what feels natural to you,

It determines What you allow yourself to receive.

It determines the things you instinctively go after.

What you avoid.

And most importantly,

It determines what you believe is possible for yourself.

So identity shifting acts a different question.

Instead of only asking,

What do I want?

Or how do I make it happen?

You begin asking.

Who am I becoming?

Who is the version of me that can live this life?

How does that version of me think?

How do they respond to situations in my life?

And this is not about rejecting yourself.

Or pretending to be someone else.

It's not about forcing confidence,

Or faking it till you make it,

Or performing some perfect future version of yourself.

At its deepest level,

Identity shifting is a return.

You are releasing old stories,

Old beliefs,

And old ways of being that no longer match who you really are.

And then you practice a new identity.

To a small repeated moment.

By making one new choice.

In taking one small but simple action at a time.

And eventually that new way of being starts to become more familiar.

You're no longer trying to.

.

.

Become that person,

You are simply living as them.

One day at a time.

And you can begin this today by pausing and simply reflecting on.

Given what I desire in my life right now,

What is the identity of that person who would be living that life?

Who am I ready to step into?

And then what are the tiny actions that I can begin taking today?

To begin expressing that identity.

So friends,

That is your mini crash course on identity shifting.

It is the practice of becoming the version of you,

That can live the life you desire,

Not by forcing yourself into somebody different.

But by remembering who you've always been underneath all the programming.

Thanks for watching today.

I'll see you in the next video.

Much love.
