Jenny Runckel

Jenny Runckel is a certified yoga teacher, educator and longtime advocate for mindful living. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that yoga is much more than a physical practice, it is a way to reconnect to ourselves, cultivate awareness, and bring greater ease and intention into everyday life. Jenny began teaching in 2021 and has continued to deepen her practice and share it with a wide range of students. She teaches classes throughout the East Bay, including at Acalanes Adult Education, Moraga Parks and Recreation, Atma Yoga in Orinda, and in her home Yoga Shala in Moraga. She has also brought yoga to senior living communities and community centers, where she especially enjoys making the practice accessible and meaningful for people at every stage of life. Before becoming a yoga teacher, Jenny spent many years as an educator. She taught elementary school and later worked as a teacher trainer and field supervisor, mentoring future educators. Her background in education continues to influence her yoga teaching style: she creates welcoming, thoughtful classes where students are encouraged to listen to their bodies, explore their practice, and find what feels supportive for them. Jenny’s approach to yoga incorporates movement, mindfulness, breath, and intention with an emphasis on carrying the benefits of the practice beyond the mat. She believes that small, consistent practices can create meaningful changes in how we move through the world.
