Welcome to this Yule Meditation,
A sacred time to honor the winter solstice.
As the longest night of the year,
Yule reminds us of the cyclical nature of life,
The stillness before the light returns.
Today,
We'll reflect on renewal in the inner flame that sustains us through life's winters.
Take a comfortable seat or lie down in a quiet space.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold for a moment and then release fully.
Feel yourself grounding into the earth,
Your body connected to the solid foundation beneath you.
As you breathe,
Visualize yourself walking through a snowy forest.
The air is crisp and the world is silent,
Blanketed in the stillness of winter.
Each step brings you closer to a clearing where a sacred grove of evergreen trees stand,
Their branches heavy with snow.
In the center of the grove is a stone altar,
Glowing faintly with the warmth of a small fire.
You approach and sit before it,
Feeling the soothing warmth reach your skin.
The fire symbolizes your inner light,
A flame that has guided you through the darkness.
Pause here to take a moment to reflect.
What parts of your life feel like winter,
Cold,
Dormant,
Or in need of renewal?
Honor them without judgment,
Understanding that they are part of the cycle.
Now,
Breathe deeply and feel the warmth of the fire growing stronger.
It radiates through your chest,
Filling you with light,
Hope,
And a sense of rebirth.
Imagine this light spreading through your body,
Touching every part of your being,
And awakening vitality and intention for the year ahead.
As you bask in this warmth,
Silently or aloud,
Set an intention for what you wish to grow as the light returns.
Trust that,
Like the turning of seasons,
Your intention will bloom in its time.
When you're ready,
Slowly rise and take a final look at the glowing fire.
Bow in gratitude to the sacred grove and begin your walk back through the snowy forest,
Carrying the warmth of your inner light with you.
Bring your awareness back to your body,
Feeling the connection to the earth once more.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Carry the spirit of yule,
Hope,
Renewal,
And the light within into the days ahead.
And until next time,
Never stop growing.
