Let's settle ourselves and explore the concept of balance during the equinox,
Where day and night are equal.
This time of the year has different names to different belief systems.
The Wiccan name for the holiday is Ostara,
Coming from the German word Ost,
Meaning east,
Along with the veneration of the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring,
Ustar,
Which is where the well-known name of Easter is derived.
It's also known as the vernal equinox,
With vernal being Latin for spring.
It's characterized by the periods of day and night,
Light and dark,
Being equal to one another.
Truly a time that inspires balance.
We'll use this as an opportunity to find harmony in various aspects of our own lives.
Finding a comfortable position,
Either seated or laying down,
Gently close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths to center yourself,
Allowing any tension to melt away with each exhale.
Really pay attention to your body in space.
Take note if you're off balance to the front or back,
Left or right.
Spend a few moments really aligning your body to be in balance.
Now visualize the sun setting on one side of the horizon,
Casting a warm glow,
While the moon rises on the opposite side,
Bathing the landscape in a soft light.
Feel the perfect balance of day and night during the equinox,
Enveloping you in a sense of harmony.
You can picture this in relation to where you are currently sitting,
Or you can create a harmonious location in your mind to envision yourself sitting in.
Now,
Turn your attention inward.
Picture different aspects of your life on a metaphorical scale,
Finding the delicate balance between work and relaxation,
Activity and rest.
Think about all parts of your life.
Things like the foods you eat,
The company you keep,
The places you spend your time.
Take note of anything that feels unbalanced in your life.
As you breathe,
Imagine yourself adjusting the scales,
Ensuring that each facet of your life receives the attention it deserves.
Pay attention to what you imagine yourself doing in order to bring balance into these areas.
Use this as a time to subtly acknowledge the actions you may need to take in your life.
Feel a profound sense of peace and equilibrium settling within your being as you visualize yourself in a state of harmony.
Take the next few moments to feel what it would be like to have balance and harmony in all areas of your life.
Does it make you feel excited?
Calm?
Lighter?
Hold on to this feeling,
Knowing that it's within your ability to create.
Now,
Reflect on any areas that may need rebalancing.
Set a clear intention to bring more equilibrium into those aspects of your life,
Allowing the energy of balance to guide your decisions and actions.
Envision yourself taking all the steps and making all the necessary changes,
No matter how small they may be.
When you feel ready,
Slowly bring awareness back to the present moment.
Gently open your eyes and carry the energy of balance with you as you navigate the rest of your day.
