Welcome to tonight's meditation for sleep.
Find a comfortable position and allow your body to become soft and restful.
This can include a brief body scan where you notice if any areas may be holding a little bit of tension,
Tightness,
Strain.
And as you notice these areas of your body,
Also notice the sensation of the furniture or the floor beneath you as it supports your body.
Feel more deeply into the sensation of the support.
Allow that sensation,
The feeling of being supported,
To become louder or more dominant in your awareness,
And create a pathway of flow from the feeling of support to the areas of tension.
Build the sensation of support,
And notice that as it mingles with the areas of tightness,
The sensation of support can be a source of strength that slowly re-educates the tightness that's trapped in the body.
It's almost like you're bringing clear water to a muddy area,
Where they co-mingle and over time,
The areas of mud become washed away by the currents.
The support is limitless.
You could stay on your furniture all day,
And it will continue to support you.
In this way,
You can allow the sensation of infinite support to pour through all of you,
Beyond the areas of physical tightness and holding,
Washing through you,
Through the tissues that feel well,
Through the emotions that drive the physical holding,
Through the stressors and the perception of difficulty with sleep.
Allow the support to wash through all of these things,
As you sink further and further into soft relaxation.
If you notice there is a sense of strain to accomplish these things,
Also passively allow the sensation of support to meet this sense of strain.
The support coming from your bed or your furniture does not require your effort to generate support.
It's already there.
And when you let go of straining to reach for the support and allow it to just flow through you,
Then your whole system learns to let go and learns to reduce its desire to strive to accomplish relaxation.
And you can notice that letting go is a much easier way to soften than to strain to soften.
So allow this to flow through you now,
As you receive energy healing.
Each time you feel a pull from mental processes in the mind,
Redirect yourself back to experiencing simply the sensation of support.
The energy continues to flow for you,
As you move more and more deeply towards a restful night's sleep.
And as I say these words,
Notice what happens within you as you greet the concept of sleep.
If you notice a pressure or an emotional response,
Continue the practice of allowing the sensation of support to flow from your surroundings into your system and also meeting the sensation that came up in regard to sleep.
It will help you transform emotional barriers that you may have towards sleep.
Stay with the sensation of effortlessly receiving support.
Allow the sensation of this support to expand into every corner of your body,
From within your heart center,
It is directed into all of your organs,
The whole front of your torso and across your entire back.
The sensation of support floods into your arms and your legs,
Moving through,
Down into your fingers and your toes,
Traveling upward from your heart to your throat,
Your neck,
Your shoulders and your head.
This support nourishes your brain,
Your pineal gland which makes melatonin,
A hormone that supports sleep and these energies flow beyond your body to surround you,
Enveloping you in a gentle cocoon.
Allow yourself to experience this expanded energy and notice if it extends far beyond your body.
It may feel like it's just a small layer beyond you,
But in truth,
These supportive energies flow far,
Far beyond you,
Creating a bubble of safety,
Softness and gentle lovingness that carries you,
Your body,
Your emotions and your nervous system into a restful night.
Sink deeper and deeper into these peaceful sensations and effortlessly allow them to guide you into sleep.
