Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly.
Let yourself settle into the presence of God.
Throughout this meditation,
I want you to breathe slow,
Focusing on taking deep breaths in and long deep breaths out.
As you breathe,
I want you to remind yourself of this truth.
Come to me,
All of you who are weary and burdened.
I will give you rest.
Matthew 11 20.
Now close your eyes and imagine placing the weight of your burden onto Jesus's hands.
Picture the struggles,
The to-do lists,
The worries,
Everything that you've been carrying and see him take it from you.
His strong hands are steady carrying the burdens you have.
Now say to yourself,
God,
You are my strength when I have them.
You are my rest when I'm weary.
You are my hope when I feel empty.
Breathe deeply again.
With each breath,
Feel his peace filling you.
You don't have to do it all.
God didn't create you to be self-sufficient.
He created you to rely on him.
Reflect on this verse.
The Lord is my shepherd.
I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down and green pastures.
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He refreshes my soul.
In this moment,
Allow God to refresh your soul.
He is leading you beside quiet waters.
Sit in his presence and rest with him.
Now I want you to end in a prayer with me.
Lord,
I release my exhaustion onto you.
Help me trust you in your strength and provision.
Refresh my heart and my soul that I may serve you with joy.
Take these burdens off of me and guide me into life with a light heart.
Amen.
