Welcome.
Find a comfortable position.
Let your shoulders soften.
Let your jaw unclench.
Take a slow breath in and exhale gently.
Again,
Breathe in and breathe out.
Today we are resting with a simple and honest passage from scripture.
Listen to these words from Mark 9 23 to 24.
Everything is possible for the one who believes.
Immediately the father of the boy cried out,
I do believe.
Help my unbelief.
Let's hear it again slowly.
Everything is possible for the one who believes.
I do believe.
Help my unbelief.
Notice which words pull at your heart.
You do not need to force anything.
Just listen.
Maybe it is.
I do believe.
Maybe it is.
Help my unbelief.
Maybe it is simply.
Help me.
Take a slow breath in and breathe out.
Now bring your honest self before God.
Not the polished version.
Not the strong version.
Just the real you.
If your faith feels tired,
Bring that here.
If your heart feels tender,
Bring that here.
If you believe and still struggle,
Bring that here too.
Let this become your prayer.
Lord Jesus,
I do believe.
Help my unbelief.
Again,
Lord Jesus,
I do believe.
Help my unbelief.
Sit with that for a moment.
You do not have to have perfect faith to come close to God.
You do not have to hide your weakness from him.
Jesus made room for honest faith.
Jesus made room for desperate faith.
Jesus made room for this father's cry and he makes room for yours too.
So breathe in his mercy and exhale the pressure to be perfect.
Breathe in his presence and exhale fear.
Breathe in his compassion and exhale striving.
Now one more time.
Pray these words quietly in your heart.
I do believe.
Help my unbelief.
As we close,
Remember this.
God is not scared of your honesty.
He welcomes you near,
Even in the middle of mixed emotions,
Tired faith,
And unanswered questions.
Take one final deep breath in and let it go.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Go with this prayer in your heart.
Lord,
I do believe.
Help my unbelief.
