Breathing through grief.

The breath becomes a guiding thread,

Weaving its way through the complex emotions that arise.

This lesson introduces a transformative exercise.

A guided meditation designed to embrace and breathe through grief.

It invites you to witness the power of your breath as a tool for emotional release.

As you navigate the waves of grief during our meditation,

It is entirely normal for emotions to surge and intensify.

If at any point the feelings become overwhelming,

Gently bring your awareness to your breath and observe your surroundings.

Begin by naming what you see in the room and allow it to bring you back to the present moment.

Simply notice the objects in your room,

Especially the ones that bring comfort.

It may be your favorite blanket,

A candle,

Or your favorite chair.

By focusing on these objects,

Allow it to bring in a sense of calm and rest within you.

At any time when you're ready,

You can return back to this meditation,

But only when it feels right for you.

There's no rush.

Now let us start our gentle meditation breathing through grief.

Let us first find a comfortable place where you can feel safe and relaxed and won't be disturbed.

Once you have settled into your place where you will provide yourself this compassionate guided meditation,

Let us slow down the breath.

Inhale deeply,

Hold for a moment,

And exhale slowly through the mouth.

This rhythmic breathing can bring a sense of calm and control.

So let us repeat this two more times.

Inhale deeply,

Hold for a moment,

And exhale slowly through the mouth.

One more time.

Inhale deeply,

Hold,

And exhale slowly.

Allow yourself to sink into your body,

Slowly arriving in this moment.

While you allow yourself to sink deeper with every exhale,

Start becoming more and more aware of your breath.

Notice the natural rhythm of your inhalations and exhalations.

No need to force anything,

Just observe.

As you continue to breathe,

Bring to mind the grief you are experiencing while you bring it into awareness.

Welcome every emotion that arises with a sense of curiosity.

It might be sadness,

Anger,

Confusion,

Or a mix of various feelings.

Acknowledge them without judgment.

Let them arise in the safe space you have created for yourself to feel.

With each inhalation,

Imagine that you are breathing into the emotions,

Providing it the oxygen it needs to allow the emotions to fully be.

Continue to breathe into the emotions,

And with each exhale,

Release the emotions with a sound.

If there is an urge for a louder sound,

Let it emerge naturally.

You can make sounds of release,

Whether they are deep sighs,

Quiet sobs,

Or any other expression.

If the urge becomes stronger and you feel the need,

Grab a pillow and release your emotions into it.

Every sound is fully welcomed.

You are safe to express however it feels right to you.

Take as much time as you need to breathe and release.

There is no rush.

After a while,

You might start notice an emptiness within you,

Complete silence.

Be there for a moment and embrace it as a welcome invitation,

An invitation into the space of nothingness.

No emotions of sadness,

Anger,

Or a mix of everything at once.

This is a place where you can rest fully.

You have given yourself the time to release all the emotions you are carrying in your heart.

And when you are ready,

Let us step out of the guided meditation and nourish our hearts with the utmost care.

Ask yourself,

What are the things that suit your heart?

What makes you feel cared for?

It might be a warm shower,

A walk in nature,

A cup of your favorite drink,

Or listening to your favorite song.

Whatever it may be,

This is your time to discover your inner needs to feel cared for by yourself.

A special and profound exploration that will help you in times you need it the most.

Thank you for participating in this profound guided meditation where we took the time to give ourselves the space to feel and release.

This guided meditation is always available to you whenever you need it.
