
Yoga Nidra - Awakened Heartspace
Yoga Nidra is a set of techniques that guides you into a profound state of healing rest…through the conscious withdrawal of the senses into the feeling body the mind begins to quiet and the brain waves slow down leading you into this state we call Yoga Nidra. So yoga nidra is not only a practice, but a state of consciousness, and in this state we have access to the inner chambers of the mind or the subconscious and this is where we can effortlessly bring change to our habitual thoughts, beliefs, and storylines through the use of intention or in Sanskrit, Sankalpa. Not only that, but our physical body also receives great benefits when we consciously guide ourselves into these slower brain wave states-healing, reorganizing, and recalibrating happen once we arrive there, just as a good night's sleep can leave you refreshed and feeling amazing, so too can this practice.

Hello and welcome to the practice of Yoga Nidra.
My name is Kumari and I'll be your guide today and I'm so honored and happy that you joined me.
So please take the time now to create your Yoga Nidra nest.
A space that is warm and cozy.
A place that is supremely comfortable.
That cultivates a sense of deep relaxation and comfort.
This could be a lying down position or a seated position in a comfy chair or on the couch.
Whatever works best for you.
As you get settled I'd like to share a bit about this practice.
Yoga Nidra is a set of techniques that guides you into a profound state of healing rest.
Through the conscious withdrawal of the senses into the feeling body,
The mind begins to quiet and the brainwaves slow down leading you into this state that we call Yoga Nidra.
So Yoga Nidra is not only a practice but a state of consciousness and in this state we have access to the inner chambers of the mind or the subconscious and this is where we can effortlessly bring change to our habitual thoughts,
Beliefs and storylines through the use of intention or in Sanskrit Sankalpa.
Not only that but our physical body also receives great benefit when we consciously guide ourselves into these slower brainwave states.
Healing,
Reorganizing and recalibrating happen once we arrive there and just as a good night's sleep can leave you refreshed and feeling amazing so too can this practice.
So I trust you've become very comfortable.
So let us begin by first bringing awareness to any sounds you hear beyond the space you're in and now within your space and the sounds in this recording.
Move from sound to sound for a few moments and let go of the sounds now and come to sense your body and the body you carefully adjusted into comfort.
Sense the edges of your body.
Notice where your body ends and the space around you begins.
Feel your own presence,
The felt sense of your whole body at ease,
Supported,
Allowed to just be.
Connect to your breath within this body.
Feel the air as it enters the nostrils and perhaps feeling the warmth of the breath on your upper lip as you exhale.
Stay with the focus on your breath in these places.
Feeling the rise and fall of your breath and expanding awareness into the whole body as you breathe.
A sense of your whole body expanding and softening with each breath.
Your whole body breathing and now focus your attention at the center of your chest,
Your energetic heart center.
Come to feel your breath here and the energies within pulsating.
Dive into the cave of your heart,
Your heart,
The place of your deepest knowing,
Your intuition.
Might you connect with this silent impulses of your dear heart.
Here is where your knowing of your deepest desire for this life resides.
Your sankalpa.
Stay a while longer in this space and listen.
What is your heart telling you?
Ask your heart to share your deepest desire for this life or your intention.
Could you now create a statement that reflects your deepest desire in this life?
As an example it might be,
I am one with the divine wisdom of my inner being or I trust in my body's innate wisdom.
Take more time now to create your sankalpa or intention and also know it's totally fine to not know right now and in that case I offer you one of my examples to use.
I am one with the divine wisdom of my inner being.
I trust in my body's innate wisdom.
And now repeat your chosen sankalpa three times in your mind.
Awareness of and a commitment to this heartfelt resolve leads you to your highest truth.
You may come back to this certain sankalpa each time you practice but also in your waking state anytime you'd like.
We will continue our journey into deep rest with a rotation of consciousness around the body.
Allow your attention to fill the areas I mentioned.
Moving around the body filling every area with awareness.
Maybe even sensing the subtle energy that permeates every nook and cranny of your body.
We'll begin at the crown of the head,
Crown of the head.
Now the center of the forehead and the right eye.
Can you sense the eyeball,
The eyelid,
Even the eyelashes and the skin all around your right eye.
The whole right eye.
And now move your attention to your left eye.
Sensing the eyeball within,
Your eyelid,
The lashes,
The skin all around your left eye.
An awareness of the whole left eye.
And now come to sense both eyes at the same time.
Both eyes.
To the right ear.
Feel and sense the whole right ear.
All the folds that make up the ear,
The earlobe.
Deep within the ear canal of your right ear.
The right ear active and listening.
Slowly move attention to the left ear.
The left ear and all the folds.
The earlobe,
Ear canal,
The left ear.
Listening.
Both ears.
Both ears listening to the tip of the nose.
Sensing the right nostril and the left nostril.
Feeling your breath moving in and out both nostrils.
The top lip,
The lower lip,
Both lips.
Inside the mouth.
Can you sense the tip of your tongue,
The base of the tongue,
The whole tongue inside the mouth,
The roof of the mouth,
The gums and teeth.
The sense of the inside of your mouth alive with sensations.
Become aware of the center of the throat.
And now the base of the neck or the hollow of the throat.
The right collarbone,
Right shoulder,
Right elbow,
Wrist,
The palm of the right hand,
Palm of the right hand,
The right hand,
Pinky,
Ring finger,
Middle finger,
Index finger,
And thumb.
Now a sense of the entire right hand and the entire right arm.
Right hand and arm as one.
Slowly move your awareness to your left collarbone,
Left shoulder,
Elbow,
Wrist,
Palm of hand.
Awareness fills the palm of the left hand.
And now the left pinky,
Ring finger,
Middle finger,
Index finger,
Thumb,
The whole left hand,
The whole left arm.
Left hand,
Left arm as one.
Sensing both arms and hands simultaneously.
An awareness of the subtle energy pulsating in the hands and arms.
Move to the center of the chest,
The energetic heart center,
The right half of the chest,
The left half of the chest,
The whole chest,
The solar plexus,
The navel,
The whole abdomen and waist.
A sense of the entire pelvis,
The right hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
The sole of the right foot.
Sense and feel the sole of the right foot and all five toes.
The pinky toe,
The fourth toe,
Third,
Second,
The big toe of the right foot.
Sense and feel your entire right foot and your whole right leg.
Right foot and right leg as one.
The left hip,
Knee,
Ankle,
Sole of the left foot.
Sense and feel the sole of the left foot and all the toes.
The pinky toe,
Fourth toe,
Third,
Second,
Big toe.
The whole left foot,
The whole left leg,
Both legs,
Both feet.
Awareness of the energy pulsating within the legs and feet to the tailbone,
Right glute,
Left glute,
The lower back,
The middle of the back.
The upper back,
The point between the shoulder blades,
Back of the neck,
Back of the head,
The entire scalp,
The entire scalp.
Awareness pours through the rest of the body.
A sense of the entire body here.
The whole body radiating life force energy.
Your whole body shimmering with this subtle electricity.
Now welcome the awareness of your breath moving naturally within your body.
Imagine your breath moving in and out from the heart center.
Begin to see a column of white light as you inhale and exhale.
And now with each breath,
See this white light rise to the third eye on your inhale and return to the heart center with your exhale.
And now imagine this column of white light from the heart to the crown of the head and back to the heart.
Breathe the light from the heart to the right shoulder and back to the heart.
Now the heart to the left shoulder,
Returning back to the heart.
See each breath of light moving from the heart to the solar plexus and back to the heart.
The heart to the navel and back to the heart.
Breathe the light from the heart to the right hip and back to the heart.
Light from the heart to the left hip and back to the heart.
Light flows from the heart to the tailbone and tailbone to the heart.
And now rest your awareness at the tailbone.
Tailbone filled with light.
Begin to visualize breathing up and down the spine.
Tailbone all the way to the base of the skull and back to the tailbone.
Breathing light up and down your entire spine.
Breathe from the base of the skull to the third eye.
Each breath filled with light.
And now third eye back to heart center.
Light rests at the heart center.
Heart center expands with light with each breath.
Light expands to fill the whole body.
Whole body as light.
Whole body light.
The body as a shimmering vessel of radiant light.
Luminous.
Floating.
And now could you cultivate the sense of your body as dark.
The light diminishes and your body is like a shadow.
Your body as the dark night sky.
Heavy.
Return to sensing a light at your heart center.
And the light filling your whole body once again.
Whole body glistening with brightness.
Create the sense of the body moving back to darkness.
As if you moved into a pitch black cave.
Pure darkness.
As if ink filled you and waded you down into the earth.
Begin to sense the light returning.
And now cultivating a sense of being equally dark and light.
Dark and light at the same time.
Experience your being as both.
Simply allowing this to happen without any effort from the mind.
The body light and dark simultaneously.
And drift into the infinity of the universe.
Floating as a vessel of luminous energy into the darkness and vastness of space.
A felt sense of your innate true radiance.
One with all that is.
All your skin,
Bones,
Blood vessels,
Tendons,
Ligaments.
Brilliant.
Floating through the ether.
Connected with the entire universe.
Safely held by all that is within the vastness of the universe.
Open and receptive to any visions.
You are the watcher.
Seeing all that is through the eyes of wisdom.
Allowing any messages from the source.
Drift here until you hear my voice again.
Could you call back your sankalpa here in this space of vastness?
Call back your sankalpa.
Or call back the offered sankalpas.
I am one with the divine wisdom of my inner being.
Or I trust in my body's innate wisdom.
Feel your sankalpa as you repeat it three more times.
Embodying your sacred heartfelt desire.
Return now to the awareness of your energetic heart center.
Might you sense the energy there?
A sense of your life force energy pulsating within.
Feel your divine breath in your heart.
Can you encourage some deeper breaths now?
Feel your whole body filling to the edges with breath.
Begin to sense the space around you.
Listening for any sounds.
The body,
Breath,
And mind in perfect connection as you begin to wiggle your toes.
Your fingers.
Allowing for any and all intuitive movements as you bring yourself from the state of yoga nidra and back to waking reality.
And now if you're lying down,
Go ahead and roll to one side.
Awareness coming back to this time and space.
And in your own time and your own way,
Moving back into your day or night.
