Tonight.
We are going to go up and meet what is called the inner saboteur.
You already know it.
Even if you have never given it a name.
It makes you tidy your papers the night before something is due.
It finds an excellent reason to cancel the appointment that mattered.
It makes you say one sentence too many.
Just when everything was going well.
Most people call that laziness.
Or a character flaw.
I am going to explain this to you simply.
We are not made of a single block.
Inside.
It looks more like a small team.
Parts of us.
Each with a role.
Often taken on very early.
This one was hired before you were eight years old.
To watch over a danger that really did exist at the time.
Maybe you were made to pay for having shown.
Maybe succeeding would have cost you someone's affection.
Maybe being visible.
In that house.
It did its job.
And it did it well.
Problem is that no one came to tell it that it was over.
So it still keeps watch.
And it sees the same danger everywhere you begin to rise.
Tonight.
We are not going to fight it.
You do not win against someone who is trying to protect you.
We are going to relieve it of its duties.
I recommend that you practice this meditation for at least 30 consecutive nights.
That is the time needed for your unconscious to absorb the content of this video.
And if you fall asleep during the practice.
Do not worry.
It is completely natural.
Your unconscious is listening even while you sleep.
And continues to reprogram itself.
And now?
Settle into your bed.
The meditation is about to begin.
Start by closing your eyes.
Let them close at their own pace.
They find the right moment on their own.
Now.
In the darkness before you.
Place a point.
A small point of amber light.
A meter or two from your face.
It does not shine brightly.
And it stays where it is.
All your attention goes there.
And nowhere else.
While you look at it.
The rest fades in layers.
The sounds in the room move behind you.
And what was left of the day takes a step back.
You know this part of you that watches everything.
Everywhere.
All at once.
Tonight it has only one point to look at.
And it does not move.
It can rest.
And the point begins to grow warm.
Its warmth comes to you.
And enters through your jaw.
There is a knot in that place.
The warmth settles there.
And the knot loosens.
Like a string pulled too tight that is no longer being tugged.
Your molars unclench.
Your tongue rests.
Your cheeks soften.
Your eyelids grow warm.
Your forehead lets go.
And your scalp relaxes all the way to behind your ears.
With each inhalation.
The warmth moves forward into a new area.
With each exhalation,
The weight of your body increases.
It moves down into your neck.
Which lengthens.
It reaches your shoulders.
These shoulders lift a notch as soon as something starts to go well for you.
Your shoulder blades move apart.
The warmth flows into your arms.
Too heavy to be lifted.
Your elbows open.
Your wrists let go.
It fills your palms.
And your fingers uncurl one by one.
It returns to the center.
Your chest widens with each breath of air.
It passes through the hollow of your stomach.
That place that tightens when an opportunity appears.
The knot gives way thread by thread.
Braid being undone.
Your belly rounds with each breath.
And the lower part of your back releases its weight.
Then it moves down into your legs.
Your thighs become broad and warm.
Your knees are not.
These legs were ready to turn back as soon as the road began to climb.
Tonight?
They stay.
The warmth reaches the soles of your feet.
And your toes loosen.
The inhalation opens a little more space inside you.
The exhalation.
Lets you sink down one notch.
Feel all of this together.
Your whole body settles onto the bed.
And one solid piece.
And it weighs much more than at the beginning of this session.
The shoulders have let go.
The hands have let go.
The face has let go.
Nothing in you stands guard anymore.
And everything is completely relaxed.
Nothing tonight requires your vigilance.
So allow your unconscious to open.
You give it permission.
And it opens like a pine cone spreading its scales.
When the warmth returns.
And now.
On your inner screen.
Imagine a pine forest at the very end of a summer night.
The air is warm and it hardly moves.
The ground is covered with dry needles that give way under each step.
It smells of resin.
That sweet scent that pines gather during the day.
And release at night.
Very high above,
The treetops rub against one another.
Making the sound of a distant sea.
Somewhere a bird tries two notes and stops.
In front of you there is a trunk wider than the others.
And a ladder leaning against it.
Rungs fixed to the bark.
Climbing all the way into the foliage.
Place your hands on the first rung.
The wood is warm and smooth.
Hollowed in the middle by years of hands.
Your fingers find that hollow on their own.
Place afoot.
Climb without hurrying.
One rung.
Than another.
The bark brushes against your shoulder as you pass.
Halfway up,
Stop.
Rest your forearms on a rung.
Then look down.
You see the foot of the tree.
Around it.
Lying on the needles.
Are the things from the last weeks.
The appointment cancelled the night before.
With its excellent reason.
The papers tidied while the real work was waiting.
And the sentence,
Too many.
Spoken just when everything was going well.
They are indeed the same.
But look at their size from here.
Seen from below.
They filled the entire day.
From here.
They fit into a small square of ground.
You see them from farther away.
And that changes everything.
Stay a moment at this height.
Then continue.
Climb five rungs?
The smell of resin grows stronger.
First treetops pass below you.
The air becomes cooler and more spacious.
Stop a second time.
Slip one arm behind a rung.
And look farther out.
At the very back of the landscape.
Far below.
There is a house.
A time.
The one from before you were eight?
Something happened there that made it risky to shine.
To succeed.
Or to be visible.
It was real.
And from here that thing has its true size.
It happened in one place.
For a certain time.
And it is over.
In your body.
It took up much more space than that.
It was big for the child you were.
And it has passed.
I invite you to repeat inwardly after me.
This danger belongs to another time.
Let this sentence sink down.
There is one last height to climb.
You are climbing towards someone.
Up there.
That person has held this post for a very long time.
He already knows you are coming.
The last rungs are more worn than the others.
Then your hands find the edge of a floor instead of a rung.
Pull yourself up.
Press on your arms.
Bring one knee over.
Than the other.
You are lying flat on planks,
Still warm.
It is a square wooden platform.
With a railing at hip height.
An old man is sitting there on an upturned crate.
His jacket is the color of the wood.
His hands rest open on his knees.
He has the face of someone who has spent his life outdoors.
Next to him.
An unlit lamp.
He hears you arriving.
Lifts his head.
And his face lights up at once.
He is the Watchman.
He has been on duty here since you were seven.
He shifts over to make room for you.
Sit down.
The planks are warm beneath your legs.
He waits until you are settled.
Then he turns his head in the direction.
Where he has been looking all this time.
And you follow his gaze.
Forest stretches to the very end.
The treetops form warm waves all the way to the horizon.
Beneath a sky that is barely growing pale.
And there is nothing.
No smoke.
No glow in the depths of the valley.
Nothing rising anywhere.
To the horizon.
In every direction.
The forest is calm.
It has been so for years.
He looks with you.
And it takes him a while to understand.
Then it comes.
He understands that he can stop.
Your words would have done nothing.
You see the moment when he accepts it.
His shoulders drop.
And he exhales through his mouth.
I invite you to repeat inwardly after me.
Today.
My life is a safe place.
Then he stands up.
He pushes himself up on his knee to do so.
He takes your hand.
Brings it to the railing.
And places it on the spot his palms have polished.
The wood is smooth there.
And warm.
He leaves you the post and the view that goes with it.
Then he picks up his lamp.
Swings his leg over the edge.
And climbs down.
You hear his steps on the rungs.
Than nothing more.
Far below,
Between the trunks.
A window is lit.
Someone is waiting for him and has set something warm on the table.
You see him cross the yellow square of light and push his door open.
He will sleep late.
Stay up there a moment longer.
From here,
There is one last thing to see.
Lean a little over the railing.
Below on the right.
A road crosses the forest.
Pale strip between the pines.
Running from one edge of the landscape to the other.
And continuing beyond.
Someone is walking along it.
Look more closely.
It is you.
In a year.
Look at your bearing.
You walk with a steady step.
And you keep it even where the road climbs.
Your arms move alongside your body.
Your head stays high.
Look at what you do when you reach the crossroads.
You barely slow down.
You turn.
You set off again.
And your stride returns to the same length.
And look behind you.
On the warm dust.
A continuous trace from the first step to where you are now.
And feel that this road already exists.
It is crossing the forest right now.
And your first steps on it begin tonight.
Let this image go.
Let the visualization fade.
Beneath you.
The forest is organizing itself.
It is the hour of the changing of the guard.
And it matters greatly.
The first pine right at the edge.
Straightens a little.
It watches over the hole for one hour very seriously.
Then it signals to its neighbor with a movement of a branch.
And the neighbor takes the watch in turn.
It has been happening like that for a long time.
The one who has just finished lets its branches drop all at once.
Its resin flows a little faster.
And relief.
They do this every night.
No one asked them to and no one needs to check.
On each trunk at hand height.
An amber drop swells slowly.
It holds.
It already has the color of morning.
Long before morning comes.
And each time a drop beads somewhere in the forest.
The scent rises a little more.
And you think a little deeper.
At the very back,
The oldest of the pines keeps the ledger.
A very large ledger.
Open on its roots.
And notes what it has seen this night.
Nothing.
It underlines twice.
Turns the page.
The ledger has pages for a thousand years.
They all look alike.
And that makes it happy.
Another has a more delicate job.
It goes from bed to bed to relieve of their duties those who are sleeping.
It takes this very seriously.
It has a word for each person.
It makes its rounds in order.
And it forgets no one.
It reaches yours.
It bends over you.
It relieves you of everything you are still watching over.
A list.
A date.
What might happen one day.
Then it leaves beside you a drop of warm resin.
As a signature.
Your watch is over.
Others have taken it on.
According to the rules.
It has been their job for far longer than yours.
The treetops hold their sound of the sea.
They will hold it until morning.
That is their part of the work.
And they know it by heart.
Far below,
The window went dark a while ago.
The watchman is asleep.
This is his first night of rest.
There is nothing left to watch.
Nothing to note.
Nothing to check.
Stay there.
In the warmth and in the rising scent.
While the entire forest relieves one another around you until daybreak.
And if you are not asleep yet?
Repeat the following positive affirmations.
Until you find sleep.
Your unconscious will then take over.
My momentum moves within me with ease and confidence.
I fully recognize the protection that this part of me has given me.
My body learns every night the feeling of being safe.
I build a calm and peaceful relationship with my own success.
I leave behind me the protections that have become useless.
I choose a new story made of confidence and forward movement.
I feel free to move forward.
To succeed.
And to be visible.
I thank this part of me for all that it has accomplished.
I trust my natural ability to see things through.
I look at my life with clarity.
Perspective.
And serenity.
I feel supported by life and by my own resources.
Each day my sense of safety becomes deeper.
I deserve a life that rises and opens.
I receive with gratitude all that my efforts helped to grow.
I act with confidence from a quiet inner space.
My old story returns to its rightful place within me.
I keep the vigilance that protects,
And I lay down the one that holds me back.
I transform this long watch into strength.
Calm.
And clarity.
I feel free to succeed in complete safety.
My success can be simple.
Natural.
And peaceful.
I see around me a calm and safe world.
My projects move forward with consistency and intelligence.
I make my decisions from a place of calm.
My shoulders remain supple and low when everything is going well.
I trust my ability to go through every stage of my life.
I allow myself to fully enjoy what I am building.
I let confidence take root deep within me.

I fall asleep in the deep certainty.
