I am very happy to be with you again this evening.
And tonight we are gently going to reconnect with that part of you that one day.
.
.
Learned not to be the first to reach out.
Betrayal does not leave only a wound at the moment it happens.
It also leaves a silent instruction.
A little inner sentinel in charge of watching the intentions of others,
Even before they are revealed.
This sentinel believed for a long time that it was protecting you,
And it was no doubt right to do so.
In its time.
It learned to detect the slightest change in a voice.
The slightest silence that lasted too long.
The slightest promise that sounded a bit hollow.
And it did this work with a dedication that no one ever thanked it for.
Tonight.
We are simply going to invite it to rest for a while.
While you sleep.
While nothing here calls for its vigilance.
It will be able to resume its post tomorrow,
If it deems it necessary.
But this night belongs to it as well.
Like a rite.
It may never have dared to grant itself.
This meditation remains a symbolic and inner support.
A space to gently soothe.
Not a promise of guaranteed results?
Nor a substitute for therapeutic support if this wound requires deeper help.
And now.
Gently bring your attention back to this moment.
And to the intention you have for this practice tonight.
Thank you for being here tonight.
This community exists thanks to you.
Settle where you usually sleep.
And if your hands are folded or clenched.
Simply let them open on the sheet.
Palms facing the ceiling.
Expecting nothing from this gesture except that it happens on its own.
In its own time.
The meditation will begin shortly.
Bring your attention to the top of your head.
Without changing anything.
Simply placing your awareness there.
As one places a finger on a map.
Let your scalp relax.
Every tiny muscle around the skull.
Releasing what it has been holding since the morning.
Your forehead smooths out on its own.
Your eyebrows move slightly away from each other.
Your eyelids grow heavy.
Heavier than they have been all day.
Now move down towards your jaw.
So many unspoken phrases have sometimes lodged there.
So many words you would have liked to address to someone who did not keep their word.
Let your jaw loosen.
Your teeth gently part.
Your tongue rest.
Slack.
Against your palate.
The nape of your neck follows.
Vertebra by vertebra.
Like a necklace finally set down on a table after being worn all day.
And now.
Somewhere in the center of your chest.
A color appears.
A warm golden.
Almost liquid amber,
Slowly beginning to infuse your entire torso.
This color has nothing to prove.
It simply exists.
Spreading into your shoulders that lower.
Into your arms that grow heavier.
Into your hands that rest.
Open.
On the mattress.
The amber color continues to circulate.
Flowing down your back.
Between your shoulder blades.
Where you sometimes carry the weight of having been your own guardian.
For entire years.
It dissolves this weight without judging it.
It simply changes it into warmth.
Into a feeling of finally being relieved of a role.
That was never yours to bear alone.
Your belly relaxes in turn.
That area that so often tightens in the presence.
Of someone you are no longer sure about.
The amber continues its descent.
Crossing your pelvis.
Sliding down along your thighs.
Reaching your knees.
Thin your calves.
As it moves along.
It gathers on its path everything that was still tense.
On alert.
To carry it with it toward your feet.
The color finally reaches the soles of your feet.
And there.
It gently flows out like a receding tide.
Carrying away with it that old sentinel function that no longer needs to keep watch tonight.
Your whole body now rests.
Glider.
Freed from a guard it had held for so long without even realizing it.
Let an ancient garden appear on your inner screen.
Surrounded by high stone walls.
Still warm from the past day.
A wooden door half open.
Lets you enter without a sound.
Inside,
An old apple tree stands in the center of the garden.
Its wide,
Almost protective branches heavy with fruit that the night renders almost black.
The grass under your feet is tall,
A bit damp.
Bending without resistance at each step you take toward the center of this enclosed place.
Fireflies have settled among the low branches.
They trace small moving lights of pale gold.
Blinking unhurriedly.
You here.
Coming from the other side of the wall.
A stream that cannot be seen.
Its regular murmur.
Almost a breath.
Reassuring you without any need to understand why.
This wall around you holds nothing in by force.
It only protects.
Like an open hand rather than a closed fist.
You walk up to the apple tree and place a hand on its bark.
It is rough.
Cracked in places.
Still warm from the heat of the day it has kept within.
Under your fingers you feel small irregularities.
Hollows.
Ridges.
Scars of a tree that has weathered many storms and that continues.
Each year.
To give its fruit without thinking twice about it.
The tree asks nothing of you.
It does not ask you to prove that you deserve its presence.
It simply lets you be there.
Beneath its branches.
For as long as you wish.
You settle at the foot of the trunk.
You're back against the bark.
And you raise your eyes to the sky that appears in fragments between the leaves.
A few discrete stars let themselves be seen.
The light wind makes the leaves rustle above you.
A soft whisper.
Almost a voice that would say nothing precise.
But would simply accompany your presence here.
The air smells of cut grass.
Still Warm Earth and very faintly.
The ripe fruit hanging above your head.
This garden belongs only to you tonight.
No one enters without the wooden door creaking a little.
And this creek.
You already know.
Will not happen.
Further away in the shadow of a wall.
You notice a small stone bench covered with soft moss.
You do not need to walk over to it to know that it is waiting for you.
Patient.
Available like certain presences in a life that never ask anything in return for their loyalty.
A small fountain.
Almost hidden behind a clump of lavender.
Lets a thin stream of water flow.
Falling with calm regularity.
Into a stone basin worn by time.
This tiny sound is enough to fill the whole garden with a reassuring presence.
Like a discrete proof that certain things.
Continue.
Whatever happens.
Without ever running dry.
Little by little the garden begins to lose its clear contours.
The apple tree is no longer quite a tree.
It becomes a warm presence against your back.
A mass supporting you without the need to know what it really is.
Bark under your palm turns into a sheet.
The sheet turns into bark.
And you no longer try to distinguish one from the other.
Fireflies slow their dance.
Stretching into small golden trails that settle.
One by one.
On your closed eyelids.
Where they melt into a diffuse light.
Almost without color.
Almost without any precise shape.
Murmur of the stream drifts farther away.
Without disappearing entirely.
Becoming the distant sound of your own breathing.
A movement of water that goes in and out beneath your ribs.
The stone wall no longer protects a garden.
It now surrounds your entire body.
Rising up along your legs and arms.
Like a warm enclosure.
That does not need to be high to be sure.
You no longer really know where the garden ends and the bedroom begins.
The two have slipped into each other.
Without friction.
Like two breaths.
That finally find the same rhythm.
The grass under your feet.
Just now still so clear that you could almost have counted the blades.
Is nothing more.
Than a sensation of softness rising along your legs.
A caress without a specific direction.
The weight of your limbs becomes that of the apple trees.
Low branches.
Heavy with fruit.
Heavy with sleep.
Resting effortlessly on the evening air.
Something in you has stopped checking whether the door is properly closed.
It is.
The sky glimpsed earlier between the leaves has gently closed over you.
Like a giant eyelid finally lowering over the entire garden.
Only fragments remain,
A scent of ripe fruit blending with that of your pillow.
A warm amber glow lingering somewhere beneath your ribs.
And this very simple.
Very ancient feeling that no one needs to break into a place where you are already at home.
The thin stream of water from the little fountain continues to flow.
Far away now.
Almost inside your own chest.
As though your breathing had taken over from that tiny,
Faithful sound.
The mossy bench has blended into the feeling of the mattress beneath your back.
The same gentleness.
The same patience that asks nothing of you in return.
There is no longer any real boundary between the garden and you.
Between the stone wall and your own shoulders.
Between the moss and the fabric that covers you.
Everything has merged into one and the same softness.
The apple tree keeps watch for you.
It has never done anything else from the very beginning.
You can now leave this task to it.
And think.
Without struggle.
A little more deeply into sleep.
Like a ripe fruit finally detaching from its branch and falling.
Slowly.
Into the warm grass of the night.
And if you are not asleep yet.
Repeat the following positive affirmations.
Until you fall asleep.
Your unconscious will then take over.
I free myself from the burden that I was not the only one to carry at the beginning.
I can move toward others at my own pace.
My trust is rebuilt gently.
Stone by Stone.
I am not responsible for the betrayal I went through.
I keep my walls to protect myself.
Never to imprison myself.
I can welcome kindness without expecting it to disappear.
My story does not predict all my future relationships.
I allow myself to believe again.
A little.
Than a little more.
I recognize sincerity when it comes to me.
I no longer have to guess everyone's intentions.
I can be close to someone without losing my healthy vigilance.
My worth does not depend on other people's loyalty to me.
I let the old alarms quiet down one by one.
I allow myself to be pleasantly surprised by others.
I can forgive without forgetting what I have learned.
My inner peace no longer depends on other people's behavior.
I choose to inhabit my present rather than my past mistrust.
I am capable of loving again.
In full awareness.
My inner warmth guides every cell toward more calm.
I fall asleep in trust.
Letting my body do its work.
I honor the needs of my body instead of ignoring them.
My well-being begins with the gentle attention I give myself each evening.
I consider my body as a precious home.
That I inhabit with gratitude.
Every little presence within me works for my balance.
Day and night.
I let the frequency of rest circulate through each of my cells.
I grant myself the right to go slowly.
Listening to my own limits.
I team up with my body rather than fighting against it.
I free myself from the burden that I was not the only one to carry at the beginning.
