There are times when we feel as if we spend our lives patching ourselves up.
One day it is the back.
One week,
It is sleep.
Then it is headaches.
That knot in the stomach that comes back on Sunday evening.
The fatigue that settles in from the middle of the afternoon.
So we try one thing.
Than another.
An herbal tea.
A massage.
A meditation app.
A new pillow.
A Week Without Screens Sometimes it eases things a little.
In one place.
And then the discomfort shifts.
Or an old sadness resurfaces.
And we feel as if we are being treated in pieces.
Never repaired as a whole.
Here is what I have understood over time.
Our body.
Our heart and our mind do not live each on its own.
What tightens the chest often ends up in the back.
An old sorrow can weigh on sleep.
A thought that keeps spinning tires the whole body.
Tonight.
I am not suggesting that you treat one more part.
I am suggesting that you take care of your whole being at once.
And rediscover within you.
A soothing resource.
That belongs to you.
Now let us return to our meditation.
I recommend that you practice it for at least 30 consecutive nights.
This is the time needed for your unconscious to absorb the content of this video.
And if you fall asleep during the practice.
Do not worry.
It is completely natural.
Your unconscious listens even while you sleep.
And continues to reprogram itself.
Now.
Settle comfortably in your bed.
The meditation will begin shortly.
Gently close your eyes.
As you would close a book you have loved.
Take a first slow inhalation.
And feel the cool air entering through your nose.
Than the exhalation.
Long.
And your body settles a little more deeply into the bed.
A second inhalation.
Imagine that with the air comes a gentle warmth.
Which descends from your chest down to your belly.
As you exhale.
Let this warmth spread out.
Like a puddle of sunlight on a wooden floor.
A third inhalation.
And with the exhalation.
Let go of the last tensions of the day.
Those that were still clinging somewhere.
Now the warmth reaches your feet.
Your toes relax.
The soles of your feet open.
Your heels settle.
It rises into your ankles.
Your calves.
Knees.
Your thighs grow heavier.
And give themselves up to the mattress.
Your pelvis settles.
Your hips widen a little.
The warmth rises into your lower back.
Than along your spine.
Your belly becomes soft.
Your chest opens.
Your shoulders drop.
Softness flows into your arms.
Your elbows.
Your wrists.
All the way to the tips of your fingers.
Your heart beats more slowly.
More calmly.
At the pace of an unhurried walk.
It rises along your neck.
Which lengthens on the pillow.
Your throat is freed.
Your jaw unclenches.
Your cheeks relax.
Your forehead smooths out.
Now feel your whole body.
From your feet to the top of your head.
Wrapped in this warmth.
It is held.
Soothed.
And while it rests,
Allow your unconscious to open.
Like a bud opening on the first mild morning of spring.
Let it take you along.
And now on your inner screen.
Imagine a path gently descending into the hollow of a hill at dusk.
The earth is soft and warm.
Ferns line the path.
And the air smells of wet stone and wild mint.
Everything is familiar.
And yet something shines a little more than usual.
The drops on the leaves hold the light like tiny lanterns.
A robin hops in front of you.
Then flies away.
And already.
Somewhere below.
You hear a clear sound.
A singing trickle.
Like water calling you.
Path leads to the entrance of a cave.
A gentle light comes from it.
Bluish.
Iridescent.
You go in.
And the cave opens into a great crystal hall.
The walls glitter with a thousand reflections.
Pale Pink.
Soft Violet.
Milky White.
And each crystal seems to breathe slowly.
Lighting up then calming down.
Song of the water fills the hall.
A spring gushes from the rock.
A water that is also light.
Clear.
Golden.
Alive.
Falling into a round basin where it turns slowly.
Move closer.
A mild warmth rises from the basin with a very light fragrance,
Like rainwater on flowers.
You step into the water light.
And it welcomes you completely.
At just the right warmth.
You let yourself be carried.
Then the light begins to circulate by itself.
It knows where to go.
It seeks out what is tired.
What has been mistreated.
What has carried too much for too long.
And it rests there with infinite tenderness.
Where there was discomfort.
A sense of relief spreads like a long sigh.
Where there was fatigue.
A calm gentleness returns.
You have the feeling that a benevolent hand is taking care of you.
Everywhere at once.
With immense patience.
You feel old weariness melting into the mild warmth.
Things you have carried for months loosening.
And a new lightness rising from deep within you.
Almost a desire to laugh.
Around you.
The crystals glow more brightly.
As if they were rejoicing with you.
Stay for a while in this bath of light.
And let it do its work.
When you step out of the water.
The light remains on your skin like a golden dew.
And at that moment.
A fragrance reaches you.
A scent of roses.
Honeysuckle,
And warm grass.
It comes from an opening at the back of the cave.
Where a soft green light is falling.
You follow it and emerge into a garden.
It is the garden of your heart.
Paths of moss.
Flower beds,
An old wall covered with wisteria.
And a late afternoon light that seems to last there forever.
Some flowers are in full bloom.
Radiant.
Others are withered.
Drooping.
Their petals a little crumpled.
You understand that they are your painful memories.
Sorrows.
Disappointments.
The words that have hurt.
Move closer to one of them.
Simply rest your gaze on it.
With the light of the spring still shining on your hands.
And the flower straightens up.
Its stem regains strength.
Its petals unfold.
Its color returns.
More beautiful than before.
And a fragrance escapes from it.
Then another flower lifts again.
And another.
One by one.
All along the path.
The garden comes back to life around you.
And your heart grows lighter with each flower.
As if an old sorrow were dissolving into the fragrance.
Bees buzz.
A blackbird sings on the wall.
White butterflies land on the flowers that have just opened.
As if to greet them.
The garden.
Under an apple tree.
Someone is waiting for you.
It is you.
The younger.
The child you once were,
Perhaps.
Or the teenager.
With that look you recognize at once.
He has carried something heavy for a long time.
Move closer and sit down beside him.
Hold him in your arms.
Or simply rest your hand on his shoulder.
As he needs.
Tell him what he needed to hear.
That he did his best.
That you are here now.
That he can rest.
Feel the warmth passing between you.
Feel his face light up.
Little by little he smiles.
And he gently melts into your chest.
Like a light returning home.
That moment.
A song rises above the garden.
A single.
Very soft voice.
Than several.
As if the hill itself were singing.
Behind the apple tree.
A staircase of blonde stone climbs toward the light of the moon.
You walk up it.
And with each step the song grows clearer.
And your joy increases.
At the top.
On the crest of the hill.
A circle of great stones awaits you under the moon.
They are a pale grey.
Almost silver.
And they vibrate softly.
Each with its own note.
In the middle,
The grass is soft and silvery.
And the air smells of lavender.
The sky is immense.
Full of stars.
And the moon casts over everything a silver brightness.
Walk to the center of the circle.
Here,
Everything that you are comes together.
Your body.
Soothed by the spring.
Your heart.
And bloom again in the garden.
Your mind.
Clear is the sky of this night.
And that deeper part of you.
The one you sense beyond words and that has been watching over you forever.
You feel them coming toward one another.
Like friends reunited.
They meet at your center.
In a white and golden light that grows.
And grows still more.
Until it fills you completely.
The stones sing together a single note.
You become once again a single being.
Luminous.
Whole.
An immense peace fills you.
A deep gratitude.
The feeling of finally coming home.
You feel vast and tranquil at the same time.
Connected to the stars.
To the hill.
To all that lives.
Stay there.
And savor it.
This light is yours.
It remains within you.
Tonight and in the days to come.
At the edge of the circle stands a great tree whose leaves shine with a gentle light.
Its roots form a hollow of warm grass.
Just your size.
Go there.
And lie down beneath its branches.
The moon wraps you in its brightness.
Now let the landscape become as gentle as a memory.
While your body finds your bed again.
Pillow.
The warmth of the room.
Under the great tree of light.
You rest in a bath of lunar clarity.
The leaves barely rustle.
And each one lets fall on you a tiny dusting of silver.
The song of the spring returns at times.
Far away.
Mingled with the scent of roses and the deep note of the stones.
You may still be in the water light of the cave.
Perhaps in the garden under the apple tree.
Perhaps on the summit beneath the stars.
And these places blend with great gentleness.
Like watercolors meeting on a wet sheet of paper.
A scent of wild mint passes.
Than that of warm grass.
Than that of whetstone.
And each one brings you back for a moment into a different place.
With the same softness.
The golden light continues to circulate within you.
Calm.
Patient.
It passes and passes again.
It cools.
It soothes.
The flowers in the garden keep opening.
One by one.
In a corner of your dream.
The child you once were sleeps peacefully in the hollow of your chest.
Crystals of the cave shine softly.
Like night lights in a sleeping house.
Somewhere.
The water light keeps slowly turning in its round basin.
And its song blends with the steady beating of your heart.
While you sleep.
Your unconscious continues this care.
It knows the path to the spring.
It knows where the garden lies.
It keeps the key to the summit.
All night long it takes care of every part of you.
At its own pace.
With infinite tenderness.
The branches of the tree rock you.
The moon keeps watch.
And the gentleness spreads to the very edges of your being.
Your breath is long and steady.
And each exhalation settles you a little more deeply into the night.
You slip.
Soothe.
Wrapped in light.
Toward a clear and deep sleep.
During my sleep.
My unconscious takes care of my whole being.
I fall asleep beneath a tree of light.
I am taking care of my whole being tonight.
How is it that I feel so at peace?
My body.
My heart and my mind move forward together.
A gentle light flows everywhere within me.
How is it that gentleness returns so easily?
My body receives the rest that does it good.
My heart blooms again at its own pace.
