Hello and welcome to today's relaxation meditation.

Today we're going to use the image of a candle to help us focus and relax our bodies.

Start by taking a comfortable seated position.

We will start with three deep mindful breaths.

Inhale exhale inhale exhale inhale exhale good Now I want you to imagine a candle in front of you.

What color is it?

Picture its size.

How tall is it?

How wide?

Does it have any particular scent?

Maybe lavender or vanilla.

Imagine whatever fragrance you find most relaxing and breathe it in.

Now look at the flame that is burning brightly.

Watch as the fire sways gently.

Maybe it flickers slightly as you exhale.

As the candle continues to burn,

Slowly the wax surrounding the flame begins to warm and soften.

The wax melts and drips down,

Down the side of the candle.

As you watch the candle melt,

You feel your own body begin to relax as well.

Your muscles begin to soften and whatever tension you're holding slowly melts away.

As you continue to breathe in and out in and out,

The candle continues to burn and melt.

If there's a worry or problem that you've been dealing with,

Let it also be burned away in the flame.

Continue to breathe mindfully as you watch the candle.

Slowly,

Slowly,

The candle burns and melts down.

With one last flicker,

The flame dies out and there is stillness.

Take a few more deep breaths in this peaceful quiet.

Thank you for joining me in today's meditation.

Have a beautiful day.
