Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
Today we are going to focus on letting go,
On surrendering.
Often we respond to the stresses and frustrations of life by holding tighter and trying to exert control on the world around us.
We feel powerless and we try to grasp whatever we can to make ourselves feel safe.
But this can create even more tension within us and push away the things that matter most to us.
When I was younger and learning to ride horses,
I would often get nervous and hold tight onto the reins to try and feel safe and alleviate my fears.
Rather than enjoy the ride,
I would be fighting against the horse that was supposed to be my partner.
My grandma would tell me,
You're asking him to go forward,
But at the same time you're holding him back.
You have to give him enough rein to do what you're asking.
Loosening up the reins is a sign of trust.
So often we ask things from the universe,
We ask it to guide us,
Protect us,
Supply us,
Bless us.
And then we fight and resist and twist ourselves into knots,
Trying to make our desired reality come into existence.
Our instinct is to fight and hold tight because we're afraid if we let go,
We'll lose control and we'll lose the things that matter to us.
So we hold on.
We hold on to relationships that aren't right.
We hold on to jobs that don't fit us.
We hold on to an old story even as we're trying so hard to write a new one.
We hold on so tight that we're pushing away the things we're asking for.
So let's take a moment and work on letting go.
Let's take a deep breath in.

As you continue taking deep,
Calming breaths,
I want you to notice any points of tension in your body.
As you breathe in,
Send the breath to those areas and allow them to release.
One more deep breath in.

And out.
Let your breath settle into its regular rhythm.
As we go through these affirmations,
Be mindful of any tension that might arise in your body.
You can always take a deep breath of release.
Let's begin.
I live with ease.
I let go of expectations.
I let go of criticisms.
I let go of worry.
I am open to possibility.
I live lightly.
I release the need to judge.
I am here to live and learn.
I trust that I am supported.
I create with ease.
I am safe.
I am connected to my internal wisdom.
I relax and enjoy life.
I am open to receiving guidance.
I live with peace and contentment.
I trust that I am divinely guided.
The universe is watching out for me.
I am being guided to my best life.
I live with trust and peace in my heart.
Take a moment and let those affirmations resonate within you.
As you return to your daily life,
Think if there's anything you can let go of.
If there are areas in your life you don't need to hold onto so tightly.
Come back to this meditation whenever you need a reminder.
