Begin by finding a comfortable seated position either on a chair with your feet flat on the ground or on the floor whatever feels good to you.
Allowing your spine to lengthen gently as you next breathe in and as you breathe out perhaps having that sense that you could land down into the places of support beneath you.
And beginning to take a deep breath in through your nose allowing the lungs to expand and as you breathe out it's just as though you could breathe away the day that you've had so far and perhaps doing this two more times so that your body can settle into stillness and then shifting your attention to your breath noting its rhythm without trying to change it and with each inhale bring an awareness into your body a gentle scan from the top of your head to the tips of your toes with a gentle inquiry to notice any sensations.
Are there areas that feel heavy or light tense or relaxed just taking it in all that's there tenderly acknowledging how you are today and then shifting your attention to your emotional landscape noticing what feelings rise to the surface as you breathe in and out.
There's no need to analyze or fix anything simply holding space for whatever arises and if emotions feel subtle or elusive that's okay too just remaining open and curious.
You could think of this moment as checking in with your inner weather.
Is it calm and sunny or stormy and unsettled allowing it to simply be and then consider what phase of the cycle you are in and the energy inside you today.
If you're menstruating this is your inner winter,
Pre-ovulation is your inner spring,
Ovulation is your summer and pre-menstruation is your inner autumn.
I'm taking a few moments now to see if there is a connection between your inner season and your current state of emotions and energy and sensations and then taking a big deep breath in and as you breathe out feel yourself grounding down planting roots deep into the earth and when you're ready to gently open your eyes lifting your gaze and before moving on with your day just taking a moment to journal your experience to write down your physical sensations,
Emotions,
Thoughts and insights about your current phase and then thanking yourself for making time to pause and honor where you are today.
