Hi there,
Welcome to our Dreamland adventure to New York City.
You don't need to pack anything or do anything at all.
Find a comfortable position and let's go for a ride.
Imagine looking up into the sky and connecting to the light all the way up there.
Breathe it in.
Let go of that breath completely.
Let's take another breath in.
Can you feel your lungs filling up?
On your next breath out,
Feel your lungs empty out the air.
On your next breath in,
Imagine flying high into the sky.
You aren't alone.
I am with you and you can also imagine any of your friends and family with you on the ride.
It's up to you whether you invite anyone on your adventure.
We are heading to New York City where we will explore the sights and finish on the bank of the Hudson River.
For now,
Your breath will help us get there.
The slower,
Easier breath you take,
The smoother the ride.
As we fly into the air,
We see huge fluffy white clouds and bright blue sky.
Take a look below and wave goodbye to your home as we leave your neighborhood and take ourselves across your town.
We soar into the sky and take steady,
Smooth breaths.
Out in the distance,
We start to see big,
Tall buildings come into view.
As we get closer,
Each building has a distinct rectangle shape.
Most of the buildings have flat tops and some have pointy tops.
There is a huge,
Rectangular patch of trees and grass in the very middle of the city.
Let's use our breath to take in slow,
Steady inhales and exhales to drop down into the green area that makes up Central Park.
There is a duck pond coming up and if you listen for it,
You can start to hear all the ducks quacking along the water.
Look at the little baby ducks following the mama duck across the water.
They are learning how to move through the currents of the pond.
Let's keep going flying right over the bridge we glide through the green trees and all the people playing frisbee and on blankets having picnics.
I hear horse hooves coming from the left.
Let's take a look.
Can you breathe in a slow,
Easy,
Smooth breath in?
And maybe a slower,
Easier,
Smoother breath out.
There you go.
We are right over the horse carriage.
The horse is trotting down the street.
Her tail is swishing back and forth.
It looks like they'll be stopping soon.
Let's continue on our journey over to the cluster of buildings and to the one with the very pointy top,
The Empire State Building.
Can you see all the people at the very top gazing down and looking at the city's sights?
We can see for miles in all directions.
The wind is blowing and people are taking lots of photographs,
Smiling,
Laughing,
And enjoying the views of this beautiful city.
We can't explore New York without seeing the Statue of Liberty.
Welcome a deep breath in and a deep breath out and let's glide over the tall buildings across the city and out over the water.
Out in the distance,
Over the water,
Is the Statue of Liberty,
A strong woman holding a torch.
You can see the light from the torch shining bright.
The statue is wrapped in a sea green robe and she's wearing a crown and holding a book.
She is a sight to see.
Let's hover here and find our breath,
Letting your breath move easily and slowly into your body and easily and slowly out of your body.
The lungs fill up with air and they also empty out.
Well done.
The sun has almost set completely while we've been watching the Statue of Liberty.
Let's use our breath to continue to fly and find a nice place to rest.
Fill your body up with air and then let that breath go.
We soar through the sky over to a bank on the Hudson River.
Here we settle in on a warm and cozy blanket.
The water has little waves but it is relatively calm.
The sky is turning bright red and then pink and purple before our very eyes.
The noise of the city is getting quieter as the sun is saying goodnight for the day.
We can feel oxygen entering and exiting our lungs with a special awareness we didn't have before.
Through all of our travels and flight we were able to change our breath.
Now we get to just observe the breath,
The rhythm of movement happening within our bodies as each breath comes in and each breath goes out.
As we gaze upon the city water scene we start to get a little tired.
So much so it might feel really good to lie down and gaze up at the now dark sky.
There are a few clouds moving at a super slow pace just like our breath.
The breath is easy,
Uncontrolled.
We begin to feel our feet soften and our legs.
Then this relaxation spreads to our upper legs and hips.
Our back muscles start to soften and release.
Those strong muscles begin to let go.
The shoulders are wide and the arms rest.
The belly button rises and falls with each breath.
The chest expands and settles back in.
The throat softens and then the lips,
Cheeks,
Forehead and all the muscles in your face begin to get heavy.
Nice and heavy.
Relaxed.
You notice the breath moving in and out at the very tip of your nose knowing that you don't have to control the breath anymore.
The breath will happen on its own.
Your body is taking care to breathe for you.
Your mind and body get to fully appreciate this downtime.
These moments you have created for yourself.
You can choose to drift off to sleep or if you want you can stay here for as long as you want.
And when you are ready you can begin to breathe in a deeper breath and wiggle your body awake.
Thank you for joining me on this Dreamland adventure to New York City.
I look forward to exploring again with you soon.
