Meditation.
It's a practice to create connection.
On one level.
With your body and mind.
And on another level.
With your soul.
Your spiritual self.
Meditation.
Comes from our ancient past.
And you can find many meditation techniques.
To choose from.
Generally.
Meditation involves.
Finding a space where no one could disturb you.
Lying down.
Or sitting on a chair.
Oh.
In a particular body posture.
Closing your eyes.
Focusing on something.
Mantra,
Image,
Goal,
Sound and meditating every single day to sustain your practice.
The word meditation.
Comes from the Latin word meditatum meaning to ponder.
And Vedic and Hindu teachings.
Have references about it.
As I have mentioned above.
Diverse techniques have been developed.
To meet our differences of our senses and linguistic modalities.
Some of the techniques are Mantra Meditation,
Focusing on a word,
Sentence,
Text or paragraph to meditate.
Image Meditation.
Focusing on an image,
Picture or symbols,
Either through your inner eye or as physical items.
Breath Meditation.
Focusing on your breath to meditate.
Guided meditation.
A narrator?
Leading you into an imaginary meditation journey.
Or a recorded audio file.
A particular Scenario Feeling Meditation.
Focusing on your body and or body parts to achieve something,
A goal or a dream scenario.
These are,
In my humble opinion,
The main meditation techniques.
From where all other meditation techniques.
Have been borrowed.
These meditation techniques or types.
Focus on our main senses,
Hearing,
Seeing,
Sensing.
Some meditation teachers use smell and taste as a separate meditation technique or use them to add to famous meditation methods.
There is another type of meditation.
Mindfulness.
Mindfulness.
Have been proposed to be a meditation technique.
But if you look.
.
.
At the elements of the technique per se.
You will find some notable differences.
Mindfulness involves all senses,
Or at least the main ones in our environment.
Mindfulness does not require the practitioner to close his or her eyes.
Mindfulness does not focus on one sense to merge the mind with the cosmic consciousness.
Instead,
Its main purpose is to allow people to live in here and now.
It does not matter the debates and arguments between people about mindfulness and meditation and which one is the most powerful,
You can practice both and reap the benefits.
Can't you?
When you read and listen to spiritual teachers,
You may have heard about the practice of contemplation.
Contemplation,
It is not exactly meditation,
Nor mindfulness.
When you practice contemplation,
You gently focus on an idea and Think about it.
And you let it go.
As you become aware of the spaces between your idea and thoughts that come and go,
As a result of this practice.
For some.
It is a prelude to meditation.
And you can gain valuable lessons and insights.
Let's return to our discussion about meditation,
Shall we?
You may ask,
Why to meditate?
Why bother?
The main reason is you will receive a lot of benefits,
And my answer to your question will be.
People meditate to improve their emotional and mental health.
For stress reduction.
To connect with forces beyond understanding.
For enhanced focus and concentration.
Back to sleep.
Physical health benefits.
Spiritual growth,
And problem solving.
It is up to you to decide and to create a goal for what meditation would be useful for you.
It is up to you.
To start practicing every single day.
And observe what is taking place in your life.
During your meditation practice.
No one can do that for you.
No one but you.
Now,
I can hear you asking.
How to start my meditation practice?
Find a place.
Where you will not be disturbed.
I recommend You sit.
On the chair.
And close your eyes.
Start repeating slowly the words,
I am loved.
Over and over for the next 10 minutes or so.
When thoughts,
Sensations and feelings arise.
Don't fight them.
Let them go and return to your focus of concentration.
Your mantra.
I am love.
I am love.
I am love.
I am love.
You After.
10 minutes.
Or sold.
Return to normal consciousness.
And don't burn your eyes.
Don't rush.
And go slowly about your business.
Practice this meditation every single day,
Once or twice.
And gradually you can increase the minutes.
To 15 and 20.
Have a diary.
To record your experiences.
And later,
You might try other types of meditation to enrich your life and explore your inner self.
