Welcome to this guided meditation for grounding.
I invite you to find a comfortable position,
Either lying down or seated,
Allowing your body to feel fully supported,
And it is safe for you to do so,
Gently close your eyes,
Take a slow deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely.
Then exhale slowly,
Softening the body.
Again,
Breathe in and out.
Allow your breath to settle into a natural,
Gentle rhythm.
Allow your breath to settle into a natural,
Gentle rhythm,
Knowing there is nowhere you need to be,
Nothing you need to do,
Just allowing yourself this moment to pause,
And to just be.
Now begin to bring your awareness to your breath,
Noticing the inhale,
And the exhale,
As we gently deepen the breath,
Inhaling slowly through the nose for a count of 4,
1,
2,
3,
4.
Inhale,
Hold gently for a count of 2,
1,
2,
And exhale slowly through the mouth for 6,
1,
2,
3,
4.
Inhale,
2,
3.
As you go through that breath cycle twice more,
Notice that with every exhale,
Your body begins to soften,
Releasing tension from the jaw,
From the shoulders,
Letting yourself be fully supported,
And as we bring our awareness into our body,
Notice where your body is supported.
Feel the surface beneath you,
Holding you,
Supporting you,
Grounding you.
Bring your awareness to your feet,
Your chest,
Your arms,
Allowing your whole body to soften.
Now begin to imagine,
At the base of your spine,
Or through the soles of your feet,
A gentle energy beginning to form,
And this energy begins to extend downwards,
Like roots,
Slowly growing,
Reaching down into the earth beneath you.
With every exhalation,
These roots break deeper,
Moving through layers of soil,
Rock,
Underground rivers and oceans,
Anchoring you into the steady and supportive energy of the earth.
Sense the strength of these roots as they hold you,
Support you,
Anchoring you safely in place.
You are grounded.
You are supported.
Begin now to notice a gentle exchange of energy that flows in tune with your breath.
As you inhale,
Notice a drawing up of the soft,
Steady,
Nurturing energy from the earth,
Rising through your roots.
As you exhale,
Notice a gentle release into your body,
Filling your feet,
Your legs,
Your body with calm,
With stability,
With quiet support,
Breathing in and receiving peace.
As you exhale,
Gently releasing anything you've been holding onto,
Any tension,
Any stress,
Sense of overwhelm,
Or emotional heaviness.
Allow it to flow down through your body,
Through your roots,
And into the earth.
There is no forcing,
No pushing,
Just a natural letting go,
Breathing out,
Releasing what you no longer need.
Allow this gentle rhythm to continue.
As you inhale,
Drawing up calm,
Grounding energy from the earth.
As you exhale,
Releasing stress and tension back down into the ground,
Breathing in support.
Breathing out,
Release.
Breathing in,
Healing.
Feel this exchange becoming more natural,
More fluid,
More supportive.
The earth is steady,
Constant,
Able to hold and neutralize any energies you release,
And anything else you need in return.
Feeling into your body now,
Perhaps it feels softer,
Heavier,
More supported.
As we bring our awareness to the roots,
With your next inhalation,
Imagine these roots slowly beginning to soften,
And to gently draw back up towards your body.
Knowing that they carry with them the grounded,
Supported energy of the earth.
With every breath in,
The roots continue to retract,
Moving back up through the rocks,
Crystal caves,
The underground rivers,
Through all the layers of the earth.
And gently returning towards your body.
There is no rush,
Just a beautiful,
Gentle return.
And as the roots return,
Feel this grounded energy integrating into your body,
Settling into your feet,
Your legs,
Your centre,
Anchoring within you now.
And rather than extending outward,
Those roots that you retracted allow you to carry this grounding within you.
And as the final part of the roots gently return back into the soles of your feet,
Or the base of your spine,
Sealing and containing all of the energy within your body.
Whole,
Grounded,
Present.
Allow the body to settle,
Know that that grounded,
Healed energy from the earth has been absorbed and integrated into each and every cell.
And once again,
We're going to bring our awareness back to our breath,
To the body,
To the space around you.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Becoming aware of the sounds around you,
Becoming fully present back into your body,
Into the present moment.
And when you feel ready,
Take a deep breath in,
And slowly open your eyes,
Carrying the sense of grounding,
Calm,
And support with you,
Knowing that you can return to this at any time.
