This practice uses a technique called 4-7-8 breathing.
That's four counts in.
Hold for seven and a long slow exhale for eight.
That extended out breath is what does the work.
It tells your nervous system it's safe to let go,
Safe to rest.
We'll do four rounds together.
Each one will feel slower and heavier than the last.
And by the end,
Your body will be ready for sleep.
So find somewhere comfortable,
Lying down is perfect.
Let your arms rest by your sides,
Close your eyes and take one easy breath just to arrive.
And when you're ready.
