If you feel lonely right now.
I want you to know something first.
You are built for connection.
Your body.
Is asking for something.
Designed to me.
So for the next few minutes.
Let me keep you company.
Let's teach your body.
That you can keep yourself company too.
Get into a comfortable position.
And then wrap yourself in something if you can.
Maybe a blanket.
Laffy blanket a jumper.
Weight and warmth.
Are great tools here.
Maybe it is.
A soft stuffed animal.
Maybe it is a hot water bottle.
And then close your eyes.
Or let them rest low.
Cross your arms over your chest.
And place each hand on the opposite upper arm.
Like you're holding yourself.
Hugging yourself.
Because you are.
And now squeeze gently.
Feel the pressure of your own hands.
You You can squeeze moving up and down your arms.
This is called containment.
And your nervous system responds to touch.
Including your own.
Now change the squeezing into Starting to stroke slowly down your arms.
From shoulder to elbow.
Really slowly go even slower than that.
You might like to use your fingertips just lightly over your skin.
Notice the sensations in your body.
Or if you use your whole palms over your skin.
Notice the warmth you are creating.
The energy.
Or if you are stroking over.
Your clothing,
Notice the texture of it.
And as you continue to touch yourself.
Bring to mind one moment when you felt connected.
It can be small.
A hand on your back.
A deep conversation with a friend.
A recent hug.
A dog leaning against your leg.
Or even a stranger holding a door.
Don't search for the perfect memory,
Just take the first one that comes to mind.
Let that moment land in your body.
Can you notice?
Where do you feel it?
Is it your chest?
Or is it your belly?
Or maybe it's your faith.
Find the place where the connection lives.
And once you have it,
Breathe into that place.
Let it grow a little.
And while you continue to breathe into that space of the connection.
Creating more warmth.
By also touching your body.
You can stay here for as long as you desire.
Let your body guide you.
Take a breath in through the nose.
And exhale release through the mouth with a sigh.
Now place a hand on your heart and one on your belly or womb space.
Feel your heartbeat under your hands.
You are a light.
You are here.
And now out loud or in a whisper.
I want you to say your own name.
Say it the way someone who loves you says it.
And say it again,
Softer.
Notice what it does in your body.
Did you feel a shift?
Now wrap your arms around you for a tight,
Warm hug.
You can move your upper body or hips slightly with it.
Swing from right to left and back.
And as you do,
Whisper to yourself.
You are love.
I am love.
And take another breath in through the nose.
And out through the mouth with a sigh.
Place a hand on your heart and one on your belly.
You are not alone.
You were not alone for these minutes.
You were with yourself.
You are with yourself.
I will see you too.
You are not alone.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes again and return to the present moment and your environment.
You can come back to this whenever that feeling of loneliness arises.
Sending you lots of love.
And pleasure.
