In this talk and meditation we're going to explore the fire element,

How it lives within your outer world and your inner psychological world.

And then we'll do a meditation where we'll allow the energy to flow and heal within the chakra that the fire element inhabits,

The throat chakra.

I'm coming specifically from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition,

Which I know may differ from other traditions.

I'm also a sound therapist and the colors and chakras within that differ slightly from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

I don't want us to get stuck in details though.

What's actually much more important than the visualization is your connection to your body and the felt experience within you.

The nature of the fire element is that it brings inspiration and creative spark,

Brings enthusiasm,

It brings visions and intuition.

The fire element is connected to expression and communication,

Spontaneity.

Fire is a very active dynamic energy,

Continually changing,

Revitalizing,

Re-stimulating,

Igniting and can be a very driving force.

When your fire energy is balanced it initiates passion and inspiration with a sense of joy,

Enthusiasm and excitement.

When we have too much fire it can bring restlessness and an agitated mind.

Because it's connected to creative visions and imagination,

Too much fire can bring too many fantasies that may not be able to be brought into expression in your physical world.

There can be an excessive feeling of being fired up and it can feel somewhat uncomfortable if it's got nowhere of being expressed or nothing to ground itself on.

If you have too little fire you can feel very uninspired and have a lack of joy,

Low energy and not much passion.

Life could feel a little bit dull.

It could be because there's too much damp,

Like water,

Or too much wind,

Air,

Blowing it out or too much earth suffocating it.

This is connected to how people get depressed during winter wet months,

There's too much damp.

So can you get a sense of how the fire element lives within you?

Just notice what you feel and allow it to be as it is,

Give it space and allow it to come alive and to heal.

The fire energy lives within our throat chakra and its color is red.

In the meditation we'll go through the stages of deepening into ourselves,

Which is slowing down,

Relaxing,

Rounding,

Connecting to our body.

I like to give you space to really be with your own experience,

So when the space is of silence really use these spaces to drop into your own experience and feel what is happening for you.

We will then connect to our throat chakra and get a sense of the feelings and sensations within it,

Giving it space.

We'll bring in the color red and we'll allow the throat chakra to expand,

Clear,

Cleanse,

Heal.

While we're resting and allowing within the throat chakra,

Here instead of silent spaces,

I'll gently play my throat chakra crystal ball and this can really help you to rest,

Let go and allow space.

As you hear it,

Let the resonance support you to allow a softening and opening and a clearing of the throat chakra.

So before we start,

Find yourself somewhere comfortable to relax.

You can be seated in a meditation cushion or sitting on a chair or if you need to you can lie down,

As long as you're comfortable and your body can really relax.

It's good to sit with your back straight and tall,

With fresh air coming in your lungs.

Don't be too rigid,

Allow a sense of movement in your body.

Let's start by bringing your awareness to your breath.

Awareness of your breath within your body.

Become aware of the feelings and sensations of your lungs,

Your ribs and your abdomen,

Rising and falling with each breath.

As you relax,

They're really been inquisitive of the feelings and sensations with each in-breath and each out-breath.

Now take part of your awareness into the ground of your being.

Do the feelings and sensations of the ground or the cushion pushing up from below you,

Supporting you.

The feelings and sensations of the weight of your legs or your pelvic floor.

And really allow your whole body to deeply relax down into that sense of ground.

At any point if you get distracted,

Don't worry,

There's no need to judge yourself,

No need to push it away or try and stop it.

Just allow that distraction to arise and then move through and evaporate on its own.

Just allow it to be and then gently bring your awareness back to your breath and back into feelings and sensations within your body and relax back down into your ground again.

As you relax into that sense of ground,

Bring your awareness up into the trunk of your body and notice any feelings and sensations within your trunk.

Whatever is there,

Give it space and allow it to be as it is,

To move how it needs to move.

Allow your awareness now to expand to the rest of your body,

Back down into your legs,

Out to your arms,

Neck,

Your head,

Until you become aware of feelings and sensations within your whole body.

As you relax,

If you feel yourself trying too hard,

You may notice some kind of holding or contraction within your body.

If you notice this,

Allow that part of your body to let go and relax again.

And remember to hold your space with the sense of compassion and then again,

Gently bring your awareness back to your breath and back into feelings and sensations within your body.

Relax back down into your ground again and then allow your awareness to expand to feelings and sensations within your whole body again.

As you rest in feelings and sensations within your whole body,

Allow your awareness to open to a sense of spaciousness.

This happens naturally by continually relaxing,

Letting go and allowing space within your body and allowing your awareness to open to a sense of spaciousness within.

Bring your awareness now to your throat chakra.

It can be felt somewhere at the base of your neck,

Just in front of your spine.

It doesn't need to be the precise spot,

Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings and sensations there.

As you relax,

Become aware of a small radiant drop of rich red light within your throat chakra.

Allow that drop of light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of inspiration and enthusiasm.

Now allow that light to gently,

Softly evaporate,

Leaving your body filled with a sense of joy and inspiration.

As we finish this meditation,

You're left with a radiant pill of red light resting and radiating in your throat chakra as a connection to the fire element within you.

The fire element is one of the five elements that live within your inner and outer worlds.

The other elements are earth,

Air,

Water and space and there's a very natural dynamic play of the elements within you.

Some are very alive and we have a strong connection to and others we may feel like we have a lack of.

If you're interested in it and you'd like to learn more about how each element lives within you and the dynamic play between them,

You can take a look at my course,

The Elements and Chakras Within You,

Brought to Life with Sound,

Where I one by one explore each element really deeply,

Helping you to connect to them and get an insight into how they live within you.
