In this talk in meditation we're going to explore the water element,
How it lives within your psychological world and also in your outer world and then we'll do a meditation where we allow energy flow and healing within the chakra that the water element inhabits,
The heart chakra.
I'm coming specifically from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition which I know may differ slightly from other traditions.
Don't want us to get caught in details.
What's actually much more important than the visualization is your connection to your body and the felt experience within you.
The nature of a water element is deep,
Comfortable,
Powerful.
It has a sense of fluidity to it,
Of acceptance.
It's associated with spiritual depth and stillness.
Water connects to the deepest depths of our consciousness like the deep blue ocean.
It can also be a joyful bubbling stream or a flowing river and it's powerful when masked like a tsunami.
When our water element is in balance we have the feeling of joy and contentment,
A feeling of contentment with the flow of our feelings.
When we have too much water it can bring overflowing emotions.
An excess of water can leave you feeling overwhelmed and drowning,
Although it can also be linked to excessive feelings of power.
If you have too little water element within you,
You can feel like you have a lack of fluidity in your life.
You can feel like things are drying up or there can be a lack of connection to your feelings and emotions.
You can also feel stuck,
Like you're stuck in mud or stagnant or feel unconfident and powerless.
The water element within us lives in our heart chakra and its color is deep blue.
So can you get a sense of how the water element lives within you?
However it is within you,
It's perfect just as it is.
Just notice what you feel,
Allow it to be and give it space to come alive and to heal.
In the meditation we'll go through stages of deepening into ourselves,
Just slowing down,
Relaxing and grounding,
Connecting to our body.
I really like to give you space to be with your own experience.
So when there's spaces of silence,
Really use these spaces to drop into your own experience and feel what is happening for you within.
We will then connect to a heart chakra and get a sense of the feelings and sensations within it,
Really giving it space.
Bringing in the deep blue color we will allow our heart chakras to expand,
To clear,
Cleanse,
To heal and resonate at its ideal frequency.
To add a bit of creativity and fun to it,
While we're resting and allowing within the heart chakra,
Instead of silent spaces,
I will gently play my heart chakra crystal ball.
This can really help you to rest and let go and allow space as you hear it,
Let the resonance support you to allow a softening and an opening and a healing of the heart chakra.
You can just relax and let go and I'll guide you through each step.
So before we start,
Find yourself somewhere comfortable to be.
You can be seated on a meditation cushion or sitting on the chair or if you need to,
You can be lying down.
As long as you're comfortable and your body can really relax.
It's good to sit with your back straight and tall,
With fresh air coming in your lungs but don't be too rigid.
Allow a sense of movement within.
Let's start by bringing your awareness to your breath.
Awareness of your breath within your body.
Become aware of the feelings and sensations of your lungs,
Your ribs and your abdomen,
Rising and falling with each breath and as you relax there,
Really be inquisitive of the feelings and sensations with each in-breath and each out-breath.
Take part of your awareness into the ground of your being.
Do the feelings and sensations of the ground or the cushion pushing up from below you,
Supporting you.
The feelings and sensations of the weight of your legs or your pelvic floor and really allow your whole body to relax down into that sense of ground that's supporting you and holding you.
At any point if you get distracted there's no need to judge yourself,
Push it away or stop it.
Just allow the distraction to arise and then move through and evaporate on its own as it will.
And gently bring your awareness back to your breath,
Back into feelings and sensations within your body and relax down into your ground again.
As you relax into that sense of ground,
Bring your awareness up into the trunk of your body and notice any feelings and sensations within your trunk.
Whatever is there,
Really give it space and allow it to be as it is,
To move as it needs to move,
As you relax and breathe.
Allow your awareness to expand to the rest of your body,
Back down into your legs,
Up to your arms,
Your neck,
Your head,
Until you become aware of feelings and sensations within your whole body as you relax.
If you feel yourself trying too hard or if you're distracted again,
You may notice some kind of holding or contraction within your body.
If you notice this,
Allow that part of your body to gently let go and relax again.
Remember to hold your space with the sense of compassion and then gently bring your awareness back to your breath,
Back into feelings and sensations within your body.
Relax back down into your ground again and allow your awareness to expand to feelings and sensations within your whole body.
As you rest within that space,
Bring your awareness now to your heart chakra.
It can be felt more or less in the region of your heart.
Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings and sensations there.
You become aware of a small radiant drop of deep blue light within your heart chakra.
Allow that drop of deep blue light to radiate out,
Filling your body with feelings of acceptance,
Of joy and contentment and a feeling of confidence in your own inner power.
Then allow that light to gently and softly evaporate,
Leaving you with a sense of joy and flowing love within your body.
As we finish this meditation,
You're left with a radiant pearl of deep blue light in your heart chakra as a connection to the water element within you.
If you feel like you really need that sense of joy and contentment or a belief in your own inner power,
Remember that you have this energy and the deep blue pearl of light within you at all times.
You can just connect to it and allow your inner radiant joy to shine.
The water element is one of the five elements that lives within your inner and outer worlds.
The other elements are earth,
Air,
Fire and space and there's a very natural dynamic play of the elements within you.
Some are very alive within us and we have a strong connection to them and others we may feel like we have a lack of.
If you're interested in learning more about how each element lives within you and the dynamic play between them,
