Welcome to this mini-rotation of consciousness taken from the Yoga Nidra practice to clear the nerve pathways and open the mind and heart.
A gift to yourself to relax your brain,
Take a mini-vacation for the next few minutes.
Finding your favorite meditative posture,
You can do this practice seated or lying down.
Make it so that you're as comfortable as you can be.
If you're seated,
Your spine is tall,
Roll your shoulders away from your ears.
If you're lying down,
Getting as comfortable as possible.
Begin to consciously relax into your muscles.
Breathing in slowly,
Roll your shoulders up towards your ears.
Exhale,
Release any tension around your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your upper back.
Sensing the space around your heart,
Allowing it to soften,
A bright warm glow residing within.
Consciously breathe into the space around your heart,
Feeling the warmth increasing.
As you exhale,
Let that warmth flow down towards your belly.
Slowly breathing in through your nose,
Letting that light glow.
Exhale,
A soft warm glow travels down to your belly,
Warming and softening the contents of your belly.
With this softening of belly and chest,
Create a seed of intention or resolve for your practice today.
It could be something simple such as,
I invite in relaxation and rest,
Or I spend time each day in gratitude and appreciation.
Whatever intention or resolve works for your growth,
Create the intention.
When you have your intention,
Quietly whisper it,
Like you're whispering a secret to yourself.
Each time you whisper your intention,
Your desires and actions to manifest these intentions grow deeper inside of you.
Now,
Let's move your consciousness over your body.
Imagine a sleeve of light gliding over each part of your body,
As I say each part of your body.
Your body is in a state of relaxation to receive the light.
Moving your attention to your right hand,
Your fingers on the right hand,
The thumb,
Second finger,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth finger,
All of the fingers glowing with light,
As if tiny little globs of light are covering each finger,
Light sliding down to the back of your right hand,
The palm,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Your right arm,
And the sleeve of shimmering white light,
Underneath the skin,
The muscles melting on the bones.
Become aware of your left hand,
Light covering the left thumb,
Second finger,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth finger,
All of the fingers dazzling in white sparkling light,
Sliding down to the palm of the hand,
The back of your hand,
The wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
A sleeve of light from the shoulder to the fingers,
Radiant and dazzling.
With your left arm,
The skin,
The muscles dissolving on the bones,
Float your awareness to your torso,
The sides of your torso,
The front of your torso,
The back of your torso,
Completely covered,
Shimmering in light,
The hips,
The right hip,
The left hip,
The light slides down each of your legs,
The right thigh,
The left thigh,
Right knee,
Left knee,
Right shin and calf,
Left shin and calf,
Right ankle,
Left ankle,
Light slides down covering the top of the right foot and the left foot,
All of the toes of the right foot from the big toe to the pinky toe,
Shimmering in white light,
Your left toes from your big toe to your pinky toe,
Encased in white light,
White light,
The legs,
Your torso,
Your arms,
The muscles of these areas of your body are melting on the bones,
The bones are becoming heavy,
While this awareness of the parts of your body are illuminated,
Shining with white light,
Moving your awareness to your neck,
The front and back of your neck,
The back of your head,
The top of your head,
The forehead,
Eyes,
Ears,
Nose,
And mouth,
All shimmering in beautiful white light,
Like diamonds,
Creating a beautiful prism of light around you,
Sense this aura,
This shiny brilliance,
That is you,
Illuminated,
Energized,
Connected to your inner light,
Breathe in fully,
Exhale completely,
Awaken your body,
Stretching your body,
When ready,
Open your eyes,
