Good morning,
Darling.
Maybe you're still in bed when you hit play,
If not,
Then you're able.
Begin by lying down comfortably,
Maybe resting in bed or on a mat.
Any soft space that can hold you for a moment will do.
Let your body be supported.
Today's start is all about stretch and breath.
So before the world starts asking anything of you,
Before those notifications and responsibilities start knocking,
Let this be your time to pause.
A quiet doorway into the day.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And a gentle exhale out through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale fresh energy,
And exhale out anything heavy from yesterday.
One more time,
Inhale possibility,
And exhale pressure.
Now stretch your arms long overhead and point your toes away from you.
Take up a little space.
Feel the body lengthen from fingertips to toes,
Like the morning sky stretching open for the sun.
Inhale here,
And exhale release.
Again,
Reaching long,
Creating room,
Not just in the body,
But in the mind.
Now gently hug one knee into the chest.
Take a breath here.
As you draw it in,
Gathering yourself with kindness,
Bring the other knee up.
Places that carry what words cannot.
Now bring both knees in if it feels good.
Rocking gently side to side.
A little massage for the spine.
A little kindness for the body.
Sometimes it rocks gently.
Now place your feet on the floor,
And I invite you to windshield wipe your knees back and forth,
Like you're clearing the windshield of the mind,
Wiping away the fog of the day ahead.
Easy movement.
Nothing forced.
Now row slowly to one side,
Taking your time coming up into a comfortable seated position.
No rush,
Darling.
Let your head rise last,
As if greeting the day one piece at a time.
Once seated,
Allow your spine to lengthen naturally.
Rest your hands on your thighs or in your lap.
Take a full inhale in,
And when you exhale,
Soften.
Now gently roll your shoulders,
Slow and easy,
As if setting down what was never yours to carry this early.
Now take your right arm up overhead,
Leaving breathing space into the side body,
Making room for new thoughts.
Opening the ribs,
Opening the possibilities of this day.
Now inhale,
Sweeping both arms up overhead.
Reach tall through the fingertips,
As if you could touch something greater than worry.
And as you exhale,
Now place one hand on your heart.
You made it to a brand new morning.
This moment has never existed before,
And neither has this version of you meeting it.
As you move into your day,
Remember,
You do not have to leap into life all at once.
You are allowed to rise slowly,
To stretch your body,
And to stretch your mind,
And to stretch into your day with grace,
Breath,
And your own beautiful rhythm.
Go gently today,
Darling.
