Welcome to this stop practice meditation.

A simple yet powerful tool designed to help you pause and reset whenever life feels overwhelming.

Whether you're feeling anxious,

Stressed or scattered,

This practice can bring you back to the present moment with calm and clarity.

You can use it anytime you need a gentle break,

Whether in the middle of a busy day,

Before making a decision or whenever emotions feel like they're taking over.

Let's take this moment to pause,

Breathe and find your calm centre.

Find a comfortable position where you can stand,

Sit or lie down safely,

Feeling supported by the ground or your seat.

Allow your hands to rest gently,

Your body softening as you prepare to take a mindful pause.

If it feels good,

Gently close your eyes or perhaps soften your gaze and begin turning inwards.

Take a slow deep breath in through your nose and gently out through your mouth.

Let your breath settle into your own natural rhythm.

You don't need to do any special breathing pattern,

Just as it is right now.

This stop practice invites you to pause,

Take a breath,

Observe and proceed with awareness.

S stands for stop.

Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful forest clearing.

The air is cool and fresh,

Filled with the scent of pine and earth.

As you stop here,

Let your mind come to a gentle halt.

Pause all the busyness and tension.

Feel the stillness of the trees around you.

There is nothing urgent right now except this moment.

To just be here,

Right now,

Exactly as you are.

Next,

T,

Take a breath.

Draw in a deep slow breath through your nose,

Filling your lungs with the clean forest air.

Imagine this breath like a gentle breeze flowing through the branches,

Calming the entire forest and calming you too.

Exhale slowly through your mouth,

Releasing any tightness or worry.

Breathe in calm,

Breathe out tension.

O stands for observe.

Now turn your attention inward.

Notice what's happening inside your body and mind.

Is there a tightness in your chest,

A discomfort in your stomach or perhaps some restless thoughts?

Observe these sensations like leaves floating on a slow-moving stream without judgment,

Just simply noticing.

You are a calm observer connected to the earth beneath your feet.

Bring your awareness to how your body feels right now.

What is the quality of your breath?

What emotions or thoughts arise?

Allow yourself to feel whatever is present knowing that it is okay.

All feelings and sensations are welcome.

P stands for proceed.

What do you need to proceed with your day now?

Maybe it's another moment to pause.

Maybe this stop practice was enough.

Just notice what it is you need.

Imagine you're stepping out from the forest clearing feeling refreshed,

Grounded and clear-headed.

Know that this pause is always available to you like a safe clearing in your busy day.

You can return to this practice whenever you need to find your center.

When you feel ready gently bring your attention back to your surroundings carrying this calm and an awareness with you.

As you slowly begin to open your eyes or lift your gaze take a moment to appreciate the stillness you created.

This practice is a gentle gift you can offer yourself daily or whenever you need it.

I invite you to return to this space as often as you need,

Nurturing calm and presence within your life.

Thank you for sharing this moment of peace with yourself.

Namaste.

I'll have to listen again to remember what stop stands for. But it seems like a pretty good practice

This is a beautiful practice, so helpful for creating some mental space in the day. The addition of the forest visualisation is lovely and really adds to the sense of calm created.
