This meditation is an invitation into softening into life as it is.

It is helpful particularly when we are going through big transitions in our lives,

When we are letting go and dissolving and expanding into something new.

I know how easy it is in these moments to want to shield yourself from all the discomfort of growth and change.

I know how easy it is to want to fast forward,

To speed up and escape any unwanted feelings that arise,

The uncertainty,

The doubt,

Confusion.

I know how in this waiting period the anticipation can feel like your feet are barely touching the ground and that you have nowhere to stand.

In this practice I invite you to notice,

To be with this experience,

However difficult it is,

However uncomfortable it is,

And to soften,

To soften into life as it is.

Take a moment wherever you are to find more comfort where you're seated or laying down and taking a deep breath in to come back into this beautiful body and naturally taking a deep breath out following this wave of breath that is beginning to move through you,

This wave of breath that is flowing in and flowing out.

And our invitation here is to just allow it to move and to move with us and to move through us.

And in a similar way we allow life and life's changes to move through,

Move through in a more effortless way.

To move through us as we move with it.

In this practice we will continue to follow the wave of breath,

Tracing its journey,

Beginning now with the top of the head.

See if you can notice or bring to mind,

Visualize this breath moving from the top of the head,

Your crown,

Through your eyes,

Your mouth,

Throat,

Your chest,

Making its way down through the torso.

Breathing in and breathing out and following its breath down from the torso into the hip and to the legs and the feet.

Allowing this in breath to nourish you and this out breath to release you.

And you are completely free to take your time with your breath,

To take deeper exhales and inhales.

Just noticing what your body needs in this time.

Noticing the natural movement of your breath and where it wants to go.

And with each exhale,

Just noticing how much more might you allow your breath to release.

Any tension,

Any holding,

Any resistance to its natural flow.

And if you feel a call to you,

You can move your body to create more space in your lungs and in your ribcage.

What wants to breathe out?

What wants to let go?

And here we are,

Just allowing,

Accepting this movement,

Being with it,

Noticing it,

Softening into life as it is.

Maybe you're noticing your jaw is unclenching,

Hands opening up,

Feet spreading wide,

Shoulders easing up.

Maybe you're noticing there is less focus and holding in your body and in your face.

Eyebrows relaxing,

Eyes relaxing,

Your mouth relaxing and returning to an easeful state of allowing,

Simply being,

Softening and moving with life as it is.

Letting your breath continue to guide you and move you in this wave,

Wherever,

In whatever direction it wants to go and flow in.

In this space of acceptance,

There is a spaciousness to be found.

You can feel like the road opening up and getting clearer as you release any notion of controlling what's ahead for you and feel that opening in your body,

In your mind.

Where does the spaciousness want to live in your body?

Where is it calling you?

And this spaciousness and softening go hand in hand with very much this movement of an exhale that softens,

Expands and finds more space to be.

As we take these last few moments,

May you know that you are part of this ever flowing rhythm and movement of life.

May your wave of breath reassure you that you are simply moving with it and through it.

May you know that you are held and taken care of and nourished in this ever changing experience of life.

We are all simply moving through life and may we give ourselves more space to fully expand and rest and simply be.

May you know that this body,

This sacred body,

Is a sanctuary.

A sanctuary of softness and rest.

May you melt in those times of need.

May you release any resistance.

As you soften into life as it is.

Thank you for being here with me.
