Greetings and welcome to today's meditation,
Camouflage and Authenticity,
The Dance Between Seen and Unseen.
Breathe deeply,
Settling into a place of comfort and ease.
Visualize yourself drifting through open waters,
Weightless and free.
Nearby,
An octopus moves gracefully,
Changing colors,
Shifting shapes,
Blending seamlessly into the coral,
Rock,
Or sand.
This ancient being teaches you the sacred dance of camouflage.
Feel your breath,
Steady,
As you reflect on it.
What parts of you have learned to blend in,
To hide,
To protect,
Or to conceal?
With kindness,
Invite forward a part that often feels it must remain unseen.
As this part appears,
Sense how it has served you,
Perhaps by offering safety,
Or protection,
Or even invisibility.
Breathe into this space,
Offering this part gratitude for its dedication.
Now,
With the guidance of the octopus,
Begin to explore what it feels like to gently shift this camouflage.
Visualize the octopus slowly changing colors,
Not out of fear,
But from curiosity,
From self-expression.
As you watch,
Feel your own energy shifting,
Allowing yourself to show more of your true colors,
Safely and on your own terms.
Inhale deeply,
Welcoming courage and courage to be seen.
Allow it to come and visit with you,
Even for a little while.
As you exhale,
Softening into this newfound safety.
You may notice where in your body this shift is beginning to happen.
Perhaps it's in your heart,
Or your throat,
Or even your solar plexus.
Maybe it's in your hands,
In your fingers.
Allow them to gently move,
To flow,
To express.
Breathe into that space,
Offering it compassion.
Feel the freedom of being able to choose when to be visible,
When to blend,
And when to shirk.
The octopus reminds you that both hiding and revealing are sacred choices.
You get to choose.
You have the right to choose.
Your parts can choose.
As we start to close the meditation,
Just thank your inner part for its wisdom,
For allowing you to be with it throughout the meditation.
Slowly and gently begin to return to your body,
Wiggling your fingers and wiggling your toes.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Thank you so much for being with us today.
Bye-bye for now.
