Hello my friend,
It's time to slow down,
To rest your body and open your imagination.
Let's take a quiet journey together.
You don't need to do anything at all,
Just listen and breathe.
Take a soft slow breath in,
And a long gentle breath out,
Breathing in and out.
Now let's go on a journey together.
Feel your body getting lighter,
As if you are made of sunshine and soft spring air.
Imagine that you are standing in the middle of a warm meadow.
The grass around you sways like it's dancing in the breeze.
A sweet earthy smell surrounds you.
As you stand in the middle of the meadow,
You notice something.
It's a tiny baby dandelion plant,
Just waking up for the first time.
Imagine yourself kneeling down and seeing the dandelion's first leaves,
Deep green and shaped like a lion's tooth.
That's actually where the name dandelion comes from,
Dent de lion,
Meaning tooth of the lion.
Isn't that interesting?
The baby plant stretches towards the sun,
Soaking in its golden light.
You might even feel the sunshine on your own cheeks,
As you watch the dandelion grow taller and taller.
Now,
A tiny bud appears,
Tucked in tightly like a little secret.
And then pop!
The bud opens into a bright yellow flower,
Glowing like a miniature sun in the grassy meadow.
It is beautiful.
You notice the shape of the petals and how they reach out in all directions.
Did you know that people have used dandelions for hundreds of years to help their bodies feel strong and healthy?
A dandelion's leaves are full of vitamins.
Its roots have been used to create warm teas.
Its flowers bring color,
Joy and even food for the bees.
The dandelion may look like a weed,
But in truth,
It's a wish maker.
A healer and a little beam of sunshine on the ground.
Now breathe in deeply.
And as you breathe out,
Imagine the sun is fading for the day as the evening approaches.
And you watch the sunny flower close up for the night,
Like it's going to sleep.
The next morning though,
Something surprising has happened.
The bright petals are gone,
And in their place is a soft,
Round,
Shimmering puffball.
The dandelion has transformed.
The meadow breeze tiptoes around it,
Lifting delicate seeds that look like tiny umbrellas made of moonlight.
Each seed is a traveler,
Ready to journey far away.
You pick a dandelion.
It feels as light as a dream resting between your fingers.
Some people see dandelions as weeds,
Little plants growing where they weren't invited.
But you know their secret.
You know that they are wishes waiting to be freed.
Tiny globes carrying stories,
Medicine,
Sunlight and new beginnings.
You bring the dandelion puff close to your lips.
Close your eyes for a moment and think of a wish.
Something kind,
Something hopeful,
Something gentle.
Now take a slow breath in and blow.
Watch the seeds float upward,
Twirling and swirling like little stars.
They drift across the meadow,
Each one twirling on its own little adventure.
Some will land softly in the soil and start the whole life cycle again.
From seed,
To sprout,
To a sunny flower,
To a floating wish.
As the last seed disappears into the sky,
The meadow becomes still and peaceful again.
You feel calm,
You feel light,
And you feel connected to all the tiny cycles of life happening around you.
Take one more gentle breath and feel the warmth of the sun,
The softness of the grass and the magic of the dandelion.
When you are ready,
Wriggle your toes,
Wriggle your fingers and open your eyes.
You may now continue to move throughout your day or to lay down and rest.
Wherever you go though,
The dandelion story stays with you.
A reminder that even the smallest things can be full of wonder,
Wisdom and wishes.
Bye for now,
My friend.
