Hello my friend,

It's time to slow down,

To rest your body and create space for your imagination to sparkle and play.

In a moment,

We will drift into a quiet underwater world,

Deep,

Deep in the ocean,

Where tiny lights glow in the darkness and where two very special anglerfish are about to discover each other for the first time.

You don't need to do anything at all,

Just listen and breathe.

Now,

Let's float together into the deep,

Calm ocean.

Let's begin our journey.

Take a slow breath in,

And a long breath out,

And out.

Feel your body relaxing more and more with each breath.

Now,

Imagine yourself floating above a calm,

Peaceful ocean.

With each slow breath,

You calmly begin to drift downwards through the water,

Down,

Down and down.

Don't worry,

You can breathe with ease here.

You continue to drift downwards,

Gently,

Like a feather floating through the sky.

Soon,

The light begins to fade away,

Because you are sinking to a part of the ocean called the midnight zone.

It is very dark here,

So dark that the sunlight can't reach it at all.

This midnight zone can be as deep as 5,

000 meters from the surface of the water.

It's quiet here,

It's soft and still,

And perfect for a magical deep sea adventure.

In the darkness,

You notice a tiny warm light,

A little glow gently pulsing like a floating star.

It's beautiful.

You stare at it in wonder.

As you move closer,

You begin to see a female anglerfish.

She looks unusual,

But you know she is beautifully made for where she lives.

She has a big round body,

A glowing lantern hanging over her head,

And very big,

Very sharp teeth.

But don't be scared,

She's calm and peaceful,

And she doesn't chase you.

Those teeth of hers help her survive in the darkness,

Because food is rare down here.

Sometimes she has to catch whatever swims past,

So her big teeth help her hold onto slippery meals.

Her glowing lantern shines bright,

Because she needs a light in this dark underwater world that she lives in.

It helps her see,

And it helps her attract food,

And sometimes even friends.

Her lantern rocks gently,

Back and forth,

Back and forth,

Kind of like a tiny underwater night light.

Far away in the darkness,

Something small is moving.

What is it?

Oh,

It is a tiny male anglerfish,

And he is swimming towards her.

He is attracted to her warm glow.

He is much,

Much smaller than her,

Oh,

Only about the size of your finger,

Wow.

He doesn't have a lantern,

So he uses his nose and instincts to find her special light.

Male anglerfish have exceptionally large nostrils to smell the unique trails left by females.

He happily flicks his tiny tail gently from side to side,

Swish,

Swish,

Swish.

He's been searching a long time for a female partner to love.

The male swims close,

And the female notices him.

Her lantern flickers softly,

Almost like she's saying,

Hello.

In the deep sea,

Loneliness is common,

But now two glowing hearts have found each other.

He comes closer and closer,

And then gently bites onto her,

Attaching himself to her side.

A natural,

Special connection made for life.

It doesn't hurt either of them.

This is how anglerfish stay together and survive in the deep,

Dark ocean.

They are now attached together,

Forever.

Now,

Imagine the two anglerfish drifting through the water together.

The female's lantern glows ahead of them,

Bright and reassuring.

The male nestles safely beside her.

Everything moves slowly down here.

Everything is calm,

And you're drifting peacefully beside them.

All around,

The darkness twinkles with tiny glowing creatures.

Blue sparks from shrimp,

Soft green dots from floating plankton.

It's like watching stars underwater.

The female anglerfish opens her large mouth,

Showing her big,

Curved teeth.

Not scary,

Just part of who she is.

Tools for living in a place so deep,

And so dark,

That light almost never exists.

The anglerfish pair continue their journey,

Drifting through the depths of the ocean.

Together,

Connected forever.

She protects him,

And he keeps her company.

Two tiny hearts glowing in the deepest dark.

Imagine the peaceful sway of their lantern light.

Imagine how safe and quiet it feels in their world.

But now,

It's time to say goodbye to the glowing anglerfish.

They drift away together,

Peacefully and happily.

Take a deep breath in now,

And let it out.

Breathing in,

And out.

You begin floating back up,

Up,

Up.

Rising through the midnight zone,

Up toward the lighter blue waters.

And finally,

Back to the surface.

You feel weightless and free.

Take another slow breath in,

And out.

Gently wriggle your fingers and your toes.

Feel the calmness of the deep sea resting inside of you.

You are safe,

You are calm,

You are loved.

You are ready to continue to rest,

To dream,

Or to go about your day.

Bringing the anglerfish's gentle glowing light with you wherever you go.

Bye for now,

My friend.
