Hello,
Dear one.
Welcome to Inner Haven Foundations.
I'm so glad you're here.
Before we dive into our subject today about what semantics is,
Let's take a moment to arrive together.
You might notice your body.
And where it is.
The way you're being held the ground beneath you.
Noticing your breath allowing your shoulders to roll down away from your ears your tongue to fall away from the roof of your mouth And take a deep,
Soft inhale in.
And a soft exhale out.
There's nothing to change.
Nothing to do.
Just being here.
As you are.
Today,
We're gently exploring the question,
What is semantics?
Somatics is the practice of listening to the body not correcting it Not fixing it.
Not asking it to be different.
So much of life asks us to move quickly,
To think harder,
To push through,
To ignore the body when it whispers or even when it shouts.
Somatics offers another way it invites us to slow down and notice what the body is already sharing through sensations,
Feelings,
Subtle signals Maybe right now you notice warmth somewhere,
Or heaviness,
Or a place that feels a little tight,
Or a place that feels neutral or okay.
In semantics,
All of that belongs.
There is no right sensation,
No wrong experience,
And no goal to reach.
Somatics is not about stretching further or doing more.
It's simply about awareness,
Gentle curiosity,
And meeting yourself exactly where you are.
Your body has its own wisdom.
It has been protecting you,
Adapting for you,
Carrying you through so much.
Somatics helps you begin to hear that wisdom again.
And we do that slowly,
With kindness and choice.
If something feels like too much,
You get to pause.
You get to rest.
You get to turn toward what feels supportive instead.
That choice creates safety and safety comes before calm,
Before healing,
And before change when the body feels safe enough.
It naturally begins to soften,
To settle,
To find its own rhythm again Right now,
I invite you to see if you can notice one small place of support Maybe the chair beneath you,
Maybe it's the floor,
Your breath,
Or the sound of my voice Let yourself rest there for a few quiet breaths slowly inhaling and slowly exhaling feeling into that place of support.
This is somatics.
Not doing,
Not fixing,
Just noticing and allowing.
There's nothing wrong with you and there never was.
You are learning how to come home to yourself.
Through sensation,
Through breath.
Through allowing what is here in the moment.
And simply listening to your body We'll end here for today.
Take this softness with you as you move back into your day You don't need to hurry.
You don't need to change anything.
You are welcome here always.
You belong here always.
And I'll meet you again in the next moment of rest.
