Welcome dear one.
If your body has been feeling on edge,
Activated,
Restless,
Or alert lately.
You are not alone.
This practice is simply an invitation to slow down for a few moments,
Not by force,
But gently.
Take a slow breath in and a longer breath out.
Again,
Breathing in slowly And softly releasing.
Bring your attention to the support beneath you.
Notice the chair The floor.
The bed.
Whatever is holding your body right now.
You do not need to hold everything on your own in this moment.
If it feels good,
Let your shoulders soften slightly Unclench your jaw.
Allow your hands to rest naturally.
And if it feels okay,
Gently look around the room or space you're in.
And notice just a few things you can see.
Colors,
Shapes.
Objects that feel familiar or neutral.
Not judging anything,
Just allowing whatever's there to be exactly as it is.
Allow your nervous system to take in the environment around you Just ever so slowly,
Still looking around the space.
Looking above you below you.
And behind you.
When that feels complete,
You can shut your eyes if that feels good and safe or you can keep a soft gaze.
And if it feels supportive,
You might bring your arms across your chest in a gentle self hug.
Or place your hands on opposite shoulders for butterfly tapping.
Whatever feels best to you.
If you're in a gentle self hug,
Giving yourself the perfect amount of pressure that makes you feel safe and supported.
And if you're doing the butterfly tapping,
Slowly tapping one side and then the other,
Gently,
At whatever pace feels good left,
Right,
Left,
Right As you tap,
Notice the rhythm.
As you squeeze,
Notice the contact.
These gentle ways of supporting yourself Your body learned these protective responses for a reason.
Those feelings of being on edge,
Activated,
Restless,
Or alert.
These are your fight or flight responses,
But being in them is not a failure.
That is your nervous system trying to protect you.
There's nothing wrong with your body responding this way.
Just for this moment though,
You are offering your body something different.
Pause,
A breath.
A small moment of support.
A tiny signal that it may not need to stay braced quite so tightly.
Continue the gentle tapping if it feels supportive or simply rest your hands wherever feels comforting.
Staying here for a few moments with your breath and with your body.
Gently releasing whatever movement or whatever hold you have Letting your hands rest where it feels good Take another slow breath in It's been a long XLO.
Allowing the body to settle just 1% more if it wants to.
No pressure,
No forcing,
Just softening where you can.
Even the small moment matters.
Taking a final deep breath in And exhale.
Ever so gently and slowly coming back into the space that you're in and softly returning to your day Thank yourself for pausing today,
And I'll meet you again soon,
Dear one.
