You've been carrying something today.
Maybe for longer than today.
The responsibility.
The pressure to hold it all together.
The weight of being the one who handles things.
Tonight.
You can put it down.
Lie down.
Let the surface beneath you take everything.
Arms at your sides,
Palms open,
Nothing to grip,
Nothing to hold.
Hit pause if you need to get comfortable.
Breathe in slowly.
And all the way out.
Again,
Longer this time.
Notice where the weight is sitting.
Shoulders.
Chest.
The base of your neck.
It could just be sitting right at the front of your head.
Just locate it,
Don't push it away.
What have you been carrying today that nobody else saw?
Let that land.
See,
Some men never put it down.
They carry it to bed.
Into the next day.
Into the next year.
Not because they have to,
Because they never learned they could stop.
Who taught you that you had to hold everything?
Just sit with that.
Strength isn't permanent tension.
Strength knows when to rest.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Let the shoulders drop.
Breath out.
Again.
Breath in.
Let the chest soften.
Breath out.
Thank you.
Once more.
Breath in.
Let everything you've been holding go.
Breath out.
Just for tonight.
That's enough.
The weight will still be there tomorrow.
But tonight.
.
.
It doesn't need you.
You've done enough.
Rest now.
