You're probably here because something's been building.
The day has been a lot.
The head is full.
The body is tense.
And you can feel it.
That low hum of being switched on when you just want to switch off.
You don't need to explain it or fix it right now.
Just give me five minutes.
That's all this takes.
Ground.
Wherever you are,
Sit or lie down.
If you can,
Close your eyes.
First thing,
Feel your feet on the floor.
In your shoes.
Wherever they are,
Press them down slightly and just feel that contact.
Now your hands.
Rest them somewhere comfortable.
Feel the weight of them.
Now take a breath in through your nose.
Slow for about four counts.
Hold for just a moment.
And out through your mouth,
Long and slow.
Six counts if you can.
Good.
That exhale is doing something real right now.
Your body is already starting to shift.
Let's do that one more time.
In through the nose,
Slow.
And out through the mouth.
Let your shoulders drop on that exhale.
Take a moment to scan through your body.
Not to analyze it.
Just to check in.
Is there tension in your chest,
Your neck,
Your jaw?
Just notice where you're holding it.
Where in your body do you feel the most tightness right now?
Breathe into that spot.
Not to make it go away.
Just to bring some attention there.
And as you exhale,
See if that area can soften even slightly.
Not completely.
Just a little.
What's one thing your mind keeps coming back to right now?
Just name it quietly to yourself.
You're not solving it here.
You're just acknowledging it.
And now,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath.
The thoughts can wait.
They'll still be there when you're in a steadier place to deal with them.
Take one more slow breath with me.
Breath in.
Breath out.
Notice how different that feels compared to when you started.
Even slightly.
That shift didn't come from doing more.
It came from pausing.
What do you actually need most in the next hour?
Not what's on the list.
What do you need?
Whatever that is,
Give yourself permission to lead with that.
Take one last breath.
Your nervous system has more capacity than you give it credit for.
And so do you.
Five minutes was enough to shift something.
Remember that next time things start to build.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Take it slow.
If you would like to learn more about your NS,
Reach out.
I'd be honored to witness your being and becoming.
