Hello and welcome.
My name is Mark and I'm really glad that you've chosen to spend these next few minutes with me.
Just before we begin.
I'd like you to know that there is nowhere else you need to be right now.
Nothing you need to achieve during this practice.
No expectation to fix yourself or no pressure to become more confident.
Simply allow yourself to arrive here.
Exactly.
As you are.
Perhaps finding a comfortable position.
Allowing your shoulders to soften,
Unclenching your jaw.
Letting your hands rest naturally.
If it feels comfortable for you gently allowing your eyes to close.
Or simply lower your gaze.
Take a slow,
Comfortable breath in.
.
.
And a long,
Gentle breath out.
Again,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
Breathing in,
Breathing and breathing out.
Sometimes the hardest part of beginning anything.
Isn't the first step itself.
It is the story we tell ourselves beforehand,
A story that says,
I'll start when I feel more confident.
I do it when I'm less anxious.
I'll wait until the timing is better.
When life settles down.
When I'm more organized too.
When I finally feel ready.
Perhaps you may have recognized one or two of those thoughts in your own life.
I know.
I certainly have.
The interesting thing about feeling ready.
Is that it often behaves like.
The horizon.
No matter how far we walk toward it.
It always seems to stay just a little bit further away.
We imagine that one day.
Will wake up.
And suddenly.
.
.
Know exactly what to do.
That every doubt will disappear.
That confidence will arrive first.
And only then.
Where we begin.
But life.
Has a gentle way of teaching us something different.
Confident.
Rarely ever arrives first.
Much more often,
Confidence quietly grows because we begin not because we waited.
Because we took one small step.
Then another.
Then another.
Perhaps you can think of something in your own life.
It doesn't have to be.
Anything dramatic,
Maybe a.
.
.
Simple conversation that you have been postponing.
A hobby that you've wanted to return to.
Healthier routine.
Saying yes.
Saying no.
Trusting yourself.
Or,
Perhaps,
Simply allowing yourself to believe that life exists.
Can still surprise you.
Whatever comes to mind for you there is no need to force it.
Simply.
Notice.
Holding it with kindness.
Rather than with judgement.
Today.
It's not making a huge change.
It's not about.
Leaving this meditation and immediately transforming your life.
Sometimes,
We place far too much pressure on ourselves.
As though every decision has to be perfect.
Every step has to be the right one.
But nature doesn't work like that.
A tree doesn't appear fully grown overnight.
It grows quietly and steadily.
Almost unnoticed.
One day at a time.
One season at a time.
And yet.
.
.
One day,
We stand beneath its branches and wonder how it became so strong.
Perhaps we're not so different.
Perhaps strength grows in exactly the same way.
Quietly and patiently.
Just one small choice at a time.
Now.
Allow your attention.
To settle fully onto your breathing.
There is nothing special you need to do.
Simply noticing each breath arriving.
And each breath.
Leaving.
Like waves arriving on a peaceful shore.
With every out breath.
Imagine releasing.
Just a little of the pressure.
You have been carrying.
The pressure to know.
The pressure to get everything right.
The pressure to have.
All the answers before taking the next step.
Allow some of that weight.
To melt away.
Even if only for these next few days.
Few moments.
Now imagine yourself standing beside a quiet woodland path.
The morning is calm.
Soft golden light.
Filters gently through the trees up above you.
Bad song.
Drifts effortlessly.
Through the trees,
The air.
Feels fresh.
Clean.
Around you.
Is peaceful.
The path stretches ahead.
Not for miles and miles not.
All the way into the future.
Only far enough.
For you to see.
The next few steps.
And somehow.
That feels enough.
Because.
You don't need to know where every turn leads.
You do not need to see the entire journey.
You only need enough light.
For your next step.
Perhaps this path represents your own life.
Not all of it,
Just one small part that you've been waiting to begin.
Notice how.
There is no pressure here,
No deadline.
No audience watching.
There is no one judging how quickly you move.
Only you.
The path and this moment.
Now imagine lifting one foot.
And taking a single breath.
Comfortable step forward.
Not a leap or a sprint.
Just one.
Daddy.
Peaceful sketch.
Notice that the world doesn't ask you to prove yourself.
It is welcoming you forward.
Take another gentle step.
Feeling the earth beneath your feet.
Feeling yourself supported.
Steady.
Present.
Alive.
Perhaps you notice that uncertainty is still there.
But something else is here too.
A quiet willingness.
Not certainty and not fearlessness.
Simply.
A willingness.
To continue,
With each step silently repeating to yourself.
I don't have to feel ready.
Only need to begin.
Again.
I don't have to feel ready.
I only need to begin.
Allow those words to settle naturally.
Without forcing yourself to believe them.
Planting them like seeds and knowing that seeds don't grow the moment they're planted.
They begin quietly and patiently.
Trusting their own timing.
Now become aware once again.
The support beneath you.
The room around you,
Any sounds nearby.
Begin to invite a little movement back into your fingers and your toes.
Perhaps rolling your shoulders if that's comfortable.
And taking one slightly deeper breath.
And when you feel ready.
Gently.
Opening your eyes.
Just taking a moment before.
Moving on with your day.
Remember.
You don't have to wait until every doubt disappears.
You don't have to become a different person before you begin.
You don't need perfect timing.
You only need today's small step.
Thank you.
For sharing this time with me.
I truly appreciate.
You being here.
And listening.
Have a beautiful rest of your day.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
