Good morning.
Thank you so much for being with me this morning.
Mark Rowland.
As this brand new day begins.
I'd like to invite you into a.
.
.
A different kind of morning.
A morning wear.
You do not need to wake up.
Already measuring yourself against other people.
A morning where you do not need to immediately think about whether you are ahead enough.
Successful enough.
Productive enough.
Attractive enough or doing enough with your life.
Because.
.
.
All of that comparison.
Can become so exhausting.
It pulls attention away from your actual experience.
And it makes it harder.
To notice.
Your own progress.
Your own healing.
Your own effort.
Your own.
Humanity.
See?
For the next few minutes.
Allowing yourself to pause that habit of measuring.
And instead beginning.
This fresh morning.
Cheers.
As yourself.
Not as a person.
You think you should be.
Not as the person.
The world pressures you to become.
And not as a person who has to compete for worth.
Just you.
In love.
Breathing here.
Alive here.
Beginning again here.
Take a slow breath in.
And gently breathe out … Another slow breath in.
And out.
Allow awareness to settle into the body.
Feeling the weight of yourself supported beneath you,
The bed.
Good chair.
Or floor.
Allowing your body to recognise that,
In this moment,
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breathing.
No need to force anything.
No need to improve anything.
Just allowing the breath to move naturally.
Perhaps your mind has already tried to rush ahead today.
Already thinking about what needs fixing What needs proving?
What somebody else may be doing better.
But for a few moments,
Allowing yourself to step away from that race.
Imagine setting down a heavy bag you did not realize you were carrying.
The weight of comparison.
All that weight of.
Expectation.
The pressure to.
Constantly measure your life against other people's lives.
For now.
Just letting yourself rest from all of that.
Now imagine yourself standing outdoors early in the morning.
Perhaps you're in a field covered in fresh morning light.
Or near trees moving gently.
In the breeze.
The world is slowly waking up around you.
And as you stand there.
Noticing how.
Nature never rushes itself.
Flowers bloom at different times.
Trees grow at different speeds.
Some seasons are.
Full of visible grace.
And other seasons.
Happen underneath the surface.
Where nobody else can see.
And human lives.
Move like that too.
Your path is allowed to look different from somebody else's.
Your timing.
Is allowed to be different.
Your energy is allowed to change and your dreams.
Are allowed real to evolve.
There are people rebuilding after loss.
People learning confidence slowly.
People healing in private.
And people.
Beginning again.
After setbacks nobody else could fully understand.
And none of that makes their lives less meaningful.
Site.
Today.
You do not need to wake up already behind.
You do not need to panic because somebody else appears further ahead.
You only need to take the next step.
Authentic step.
In your own life.
You are not behind,
You are living a life that is uniquely yours.
Now gently returning.
Awareness to the breath.
Slow inhale.
And release.
Imagine a stream flowing beside you.
And each time a comparison enters the mind today.
Imagine placing it.
Gently yond the water.
Watching it drift away instead of holding on to it.
Perhaps the comparison says otherwise.
They are doing better than me.
Let it float away.
Maybe it's saying I should be further ahead.
Just allow that to drift away too.
.
.
Everybody seems.
More certain.
Then just watch that fall move further and further downstream.
My friend you are.
Not failing just because your life looks different from somebody else's.
Different does not mean wrong.
A quieter life is not a lesser life.
A slow season is not a wasted season.
And your worth does not rise or fall based on somebody else's approval.
So this morning,
Allow yourself to stop treating your life like a competition.
And begin to treat it.
More like a relationship.
A relationship that deserves patience.
Attention.
Care and honesty.
Now beginning to return awareness to the body,
Feeling the breathing again.
And the surface beneath you,
Becoming aware of any sounds around you.
And perhaps gently wiggling your fingers and toes.
And as this morning continues.
See if you can remember this You do not need to become somebody else to deserve a meaningful life.
There is no need to rush your becoming.
You do not need to win at being human.
And you are allowed to begin this morning exactly as you are.
One breath at a time.
One step at a time.
Honest moment.
At a time.
And perhaps.
.
.
Carrying this question.
Gently into the rest of your day.
What would it feel like to fully live my own life today?
Thank you for meditating with me this morning.
Have a beautiful rest of your day.
Go in peace.
Namaste.
