Allow your eyes to gently close,
If that feels comfortable,
Or soften your gaze.
Let the body begin to settle,
Releasing any unnecessary tension you might be holding without even noticing.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
And gently exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in,
Allowing the chest and belly to expand softly,
And breathing out,
Letting the shoulders drop,
The jaw unclench,
The body soften just a little more.
Let the breath become slow and natural,
Like a quiet rhythm guiding you inward.
There are moments in life when we long to feel safe,
When the outside world feels too fast,
Too uncertain,
Or too overwhelming.
In those moments,
It can seem as though safety is something we need to find somewhere outside of us,
Something we need to reach or hold on to.
But for now,
Allow yourself to explore a different possibility,
That within you,
There is a place that has always been here,
A place that is not shaken by what is happening around you.
Take another slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine yourself stepping gently inward,
As if you are walking into a quiet,
Peaceful space within your own being.
There is no need to force an image.
Simply allow this space to reveal itself in its own way.
It might appear as a warm,
Softly lit room,
A peaceful place in nature,
Or simply a feeling of calm and openness.
Notice what this place feels like.
Perhaps there is a sense of warmth here,
A quiet stillness,
A feeling of being held without needing to do anything at all.
With each breath,
Allow this space to become a little more real,
A little more familiar.
Breathing in,
And breathing out.
Imagine that as you rest here,
The body begins to soften even more.
The muscles release.
The breath deepens.
The nervous system gently unwinds.
Nothing is asking anything from you in this place.
You are simply allowed to be.
If thoughts or worries begin to appear,
Gently imagine placing them outside this space,
Like leaving something at the door before entering.
They are not gone,
And you can return to them later,
But for now,
They remain outside,
And you remain here,
Safe,
Held,
Supported.
Take a slightly deeper breath in,
And as you exhale,
Imagine this sense of safety expanding through your body.
From the center of your chest,
Moving outward,
Into your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your belly,
Your legs.
Let it spread gently,
Like warmth moving through you.
This place is not something you need to create perfectly.
It is something you can return to,
Again and again.
Take another slow breath in,
And softly exhale.
Spend a few more moments here,
Resting in this space,
Allowing the body to receive the feeling of safety,
Allowing the mind to soften.
And when you feel ready,
Begin to gently bring your awareness back to the room around you.
Notice the sounds nearby,
The feeling of your body where you are.
Take your time,
And as you open your eyes,
Carry this sense of inner safety with you,
Knowing that no matter what is happening outside,
There is always a place within you where you can return,
A place where you are allowed to rest,
To soften,
And to simply be.
