Good morning,
And welcome to this gentle morning reset,
Where I'm going to invite you to start your day in the way that is most supportive for you.
Setting ourselves up for the best day that we can have.
So take a moment to get yourself comfortable.
Maybe lying yourself down,
Or supporting yourself.
Maybe things like cushions and blankets.
Maybe you're even still in bed.
Settling the duvet around you,
Getting your head comfy on your pillow,
Allowing yourself to settle,
Soften,
And to be as comfortable as you can be in this moment.
Maybe you've just woken up,
And you might even find that having a little wriggle or a stretch brings a little bit of looseness into your body,
Allowing yourself to settle and to soften a little further.
You might find reaching your arms over your head and stretching can feel really nice,
If that is something that feels possible for you.
Or maybe having a more gentle wriggle.
Taking your time here as we start our morning together.
Maybe allowing your eyes to drift closed if that's comfortable,
Or softening your gaze if you prefer to keep your eyes open.
And let's start out here by checking in.
So what do you notice in your body here?
Any sensations that you notice?
How does your breath feel?
Does your mind feel busy?
What emotions do you notice in your body?
How does your energy feel here?
And remember we're being gentle here,
We're noticing,
We're being curious,
We're trying not to judge,
So we're coming from this place of curiosity,
Of observing,
Rather than judgement or pressure or fear,
And really trying to lean into that curiosity.
And as we start to notice,
You may even find that the body does start to settle a little,
Maybe your breath softens,
And if that hasn't happened yet that's okay.
You might find it helpful to rest your hand onto your belly,
Or using a cushion if that's easier for you.
And noticing if your breath feels like it's moving in your belly,
Do you notice a little bit of movement there?
And can you start to draw your breath a little bit lower?
Can you invite that breath down there?
Encourage it?
Maybe feel like you're breathing into your hand?
And if things do feel very stuck,
Or tense or tight,
Again you can have a little wriggle if that helps,
Make a little bit of movement,
Have a little strength.
We don't have to be still,
What we want to do here is meet our needs,
And sometimes we do need stillness,
But sometimes we can only settle into stillness once we've passed some of that energy through.
So deepening that breath if you're able to,
Only at a pace that feels safe.
And as we allow ourselves to settle into this,
Starting our day from this place of a little bit of calm,
Creating a pause before anything else happens,
And no matter what happens through our day,
We know that we started it,
With a reset,
With a pause,
We settled ourselves.
And knowing that that means we're a little bit more able to meet whatever happens,
And also remembering that we can come back to this,
So this place of calm,
This little pause,
This connection with our body and our breath,
This is something we can come back to anytime we need to during the day.
So continuing to allow ourselves this little bit of space,
This time,
This gentleness,
Let's ask ourselves,
What would make today a little bit easier?
What would help me to stay a little bit calmer today?
Or what would help me with something challenging today?
What would help me deal with uncertainty that I might face today?
So what one thing would make today a little bit easier?
And holding onto that one thing,
And that's one thing that you can keep coming back to,
And let's set that as an intention.
So my intention for today is calm,
Or ease,
Focus,
Strength,
Gentleness,
Kindness,
Whatever it is that comes up.
Setting your intention for today.
It might be one thing that you're going to do.
It might be,
I'm going to breathe consciously.
I'm going to come back to my breath every hour.
I'm going to take breaks.
I'm going to remember to hydrate.
So what is it that's going to make today easier?
And committing to this.
Maybe place your hand on your heart,
Gently.
And as we breathe,
Affirming to ourselves,
I will put myself first.
I will do my best to listen to my body.
Today,
I'm going to meet my needs.
Today,
I'm going to be kind to myself.
Today,
I will meet myself where I am.
And as we take a few more breaths here,
Knowing that you have set yourself up for your day.
Knowing that you have choices.
That you have tools.
And you have the ability to listen to your body.
And knowing that you're going to do the best that you can with what you have.
And that is enough.
So taking one more breath.
Taking your time.
And then,
Maybe starting to have a little wriggle if that feels good.
Taking a stretch.
Noticing how your body feels different.
And then,
Going and having the best day that you can have.
Knowing that you started it off in the best way possible.
And that you can come back to your breath.
You can come back to this practice when you need to.
So take care,
And I'll see you soon.
