If you're stuck between two decisions,
And you've already made your pros and cons list,
You've talked to all your friends,
And you have repeated the scenarios in your head 400 times,
I want you to try something different.
You're going to go for a walk.
Actually,
You're gonna go for two walks.
Hear me out.
Let's say you have decision A and decision B.
The first walk is going to be with decision A.
I want you to pick a path that you're going to walk twice in relatively the same time.
And the first one you're going to commit to decision a you're going to tell yourself this is the one I'm going to do this is what's going to happen and allow yourself to be in that decision walk with that decision feel that decision but notice.
What is your perception picking up?
What does your body feel like?
Do you notice any bracing?
Do you notice freedom in this decision?
The point here is not to make this decision right now.
Is to notice,
To get information from your body as you do this.
And then you come back.
And you're gonna go for the walk again.
This time,
You're gonna do it from decision number two.
Same thing,
Tell yourself,
Feel yourself being in this decision.
And notice.
What does it feel like to be walking outside?
Do you notice your breath?
Do you notice something different?
Either in the environment,
Which is the same environment,
Or within yourself.
This isn't a practice to help you come back and make the decision right away.
It's a practice to involve the body into the decision because a lot of times we're making things from up here from our heads.
Our bodies are just simply walking our heads around.
But our bodies have so much information.
As a somatic therapist,
I help people get out of their heads and into their bodies so they can bridge this conversation and get a more rounded experience of their life,
And in this case,
Of their decisions.
Thank you so much for spending time with me today.
I hope to see you in the next practice.
