This guided meditation, led by Kelly Higdon, invites therapists, healers, and helpers to reconnect with their private practice as a living, nurturing relationship. Through a gentle visualization of planting and tending a seed, the meditation explores the themes of patience, care, and hope as necessary ingredients for growth—both personally and professionally. It emphasizes that the fruits of your labor, including financial abundance, come from consistent, loving attention. The meditation closes with affirmations that reinforce your worthiness of support and the reciprocal nature of tending to your business.

Hi,

This is Kelly.

Welcome to your money meditation for therapists,

Helpers,

And healers who are in private practice.

This is a guided imagery exercise that is to be used whenever you're feeling depleted,

Confused,

Or frustrated,

Or just needing a little bit more nurturance and encouragement.

So often,

We need so much from our private practice.

And this guided imagery exercise is to help you nurture your practice so that it can nurture you.

And if you have a hard time with visualizing,

You may choose to focus on the body sensations,

Emotions,

Or thoughts that arise as you go through this process.

Just take one or two deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth as we bring our presence into our bodies and into this time and space given to ground into the earth and to be present.

Inhaling through the nose,

Exhaling through the mouth.

One more time,

Inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.

Allow your breath to return to its normal rhythm.

And if you're in a place where you can close your eyes,

Please do so.

Or if it feels safer for you,

You can have a soft gaze on a spot in the room where you're sitting.

I want you to imagine taking your hands,

Opening it up and reaching out.

In fact,

If you're in a place where you can do this,

Go ahead and take your hand,

Reach out and open it up in a position of receiving.

And I want you to imagine that I put a seed in your hand.

It's a very,

Very tiny seed.

Just notice the seed.

Within this seed lies the potential to grow an entire tree that bears fruit.

It lies the potential to create a bush full of roses.

There is a whole world in this tiny,

Tiny seed.

This seed is your future.

It holds the potential to create.

And as you look at the seed,

Notice how you feel.

You might find a deep love for the possibilities that the seed holds.

Compassion,

Excitement,

Maybe even some trepidation.

Just notice what comes up for you as you hold the possibility in your hand.

Many others may walk by and just notice it's a seed in your hand,

But you know that it is so much more.

Then I want you to imagine that I place in front of you a pot full of soil.

You take your other hand and move some of the dirt away to create a hole,

And you place the seed in the rich,

Moist soil,

Covering it up,

Pouring a little bit of water,

And then saying a blessing over the seed.

Whatever that may feel like for you,

Wishing the seed to reach its full potential,

To bear its fruit and flowers with ease,

To take up space and to be beautiful.

All of your hope sitting in the seed,

Resting in the soil.

You could smell the earth,

Feel the dirt on your fingers,

The sound of the wind as you're outside planting the seed.

And now you sit and you wait.

There's so much held in the seed that you are sure to tend to it every day,

Giving it the water and nourishment it needs to grow.

I want you to become aware of the feelings and the sensations that come up for you as you wait,

Knowing that as you visit the seed in the pot,

As you see the soil,

And you know that there is a seed waiting to grow,

What comes up for you?

Every day you show up and tend to this potted plant,

And every day you continue to hold hope that one day it will rise above the surface.

As you are waiting for it to grow,

To bear fruit,

To show you a flower,

What does this seed need from you?

What does it need in order to crack open and to rise up?

Take a moment and breathe that in.

Weeks or months may go by,

But as you continue to show up and work the soil and nourish the seed,

You start to see a sprout,

A bright green sprout.

And then you're reminded of all that you put into this seed,

The potential,

And how it has come to shift and take a new form.

Imagine how this plant grows and what it looks like,

The fruit or the flowers that it bears.

This is your seed that you planted,

This is your soil that you watered,

And this is the fruit of your labor.

Taking a moment to revel in its greatness.

As you look upon this plant,

Notice the details,

Its uniqueness.

No other plant will look exactly like it or grow in the same exact way.

And as this plant represents you and your creation,

What are you proud of?

What do you find beautiful?

What potential do you see for the future growth in this plant?

Breathing that in.

Now I want you to take a piece of the plant,

Pick off a leaf,

A flower,

A piece of fruit,

Putting it in the palm of your hand and closing your hand around it,

Holding it to your heart and taking it with you.

You may walk away from the plant knowing that you could come back at any time to visit,

To see what is growing from this tiny seed of hope,

Knowing that as long as you water and feed this plant,

It will continue to give back to you.

Be aware of what you are taking with you and how it is just as sacred as the tiny little seed that you originally started with.

And as you breathe that in,

Maybe repeat after me,

I am worthy of nurturing.

My practice is worthy of my care.

When I tend to things,

They grow,

They give back,

They inspire,

Allowing that to sink into your bones and when you're ready,

Wiggle your toes and come back into the room that you're in,

Noticing your senses,

What you hear,

Feel,

Smell or even taste.

Your business,

Your private practice,

Your work will give back to you in many ways.

Money is just one of them.

But it needs you.

It needs your tending,

Your care,

Your attention.

Just like any relationship,

When you show up and you nurture,

It will respond.

The money,

The gifts,

The fruit of your labor is like this.

It's asking for you to take care of it,

To respect it,

To give it attention.

Not just sitting and hoping it grows,

But actually watering it,

Nurturing it.

I hope this guided imagery has put the power back in your hands to remind you of your greatness and how deserving you are of the care and attention that you give to even a tiny seed.

Thank you.
