Katie is an author and advocate for health and healing. After a significant episode of burnout in her 20s that led to debilitating migraines and a stomach ulcer, Katie was introduced to the healing power of yoga. The practice changed her life as it changed her body, mind, and soul. Now, as a master's-trained director of health promotion and trauma-informed yoga teacher, she educates others about the importance of holistic health and the power of recovery through traditional yoga practices, including asana/physical postures, pranayama/breath control, and dhyana/meditation. Svadhyaya/self-study, one of the niyamas/observances, has been the most life-changing for Katie. She offers many opportunities for self-discovery through unique combinations of yoga practices with writing such as Yin Yoga & Journaling, Community Writing Circles, and Insight Meditations. Her trauma-informed slow flows incorporate yoga texts and teachings to share the insights that helped her heal.
