Fox and Ice.
These planet meditations are designed for you to sit with the beautiful elements and life in all its glorious creation on our earth as you quiet yourself to be here right now.
They can be used to return you to your sense of oneness with the whole planet or you could simply enjoy them and relax.
I hope you can use them in a way that resonates for you.
I invite you to take a couple of full breaths letting the air out slowly and bringing your attention to your breath to the inflow and outflow of your breath as you gently close your eyes and beginning now to notice any sensations you can feel in your body.
Noticing how it feels for you in this moment.
Bringing your attention to your body and gently scanning slowly down as you breathe from your head,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Chest,
Back,
Tummy,
Hips,
Thighs,
Calves and finally feeling into your feet.
Noticing the sensations in your feet and in your toes.
Perhaps your toes are touching or maybe they're apart.
Whatever you notice just becoming aware of these sensations with a sense of gentle curiosity.
Nothing to do about them.
Simply becoming aware of the sensations in your body.
Bringing your focus into your body and into any sensations you may feel.
Perhaps you can sense some tingling,
Maybe numbness.
Just breathing in and out and allowing all sensations to just be.
Bringing this kind curiosity to all you might feel.
Sensing where your body makes contact with the surface supporting you.
Perhaps your heels or calves or your shoulder blades pressing into the floor.
Whatever you can feel just noticing and letting be.
And now bringing your awareness up through your body.
Noticing the feeling of the air entering and leaving your lungs.
Breathing in and out.
Noticing the movement of your body as it fills with air and the movement as the air leaves again.
Perhaps you can even notice the pause.
The pause on the in breath before you let the air go and the pause on the out breath before you draw new air in.
Simply bringing awareness to your breath and your own natural ebb and flow.
Maybe noticing that your body knows what to do in every moment and with each breath.
Moment by moment,
Minute by minute,
Day by day.
Nothing to do or change.
Nothing to decide.
No rights or wrongs.
Just lying or sitting here.
Supported by the ground.
Breathing naturally and noticing what's happening for you in this moment.
Perhaps bringing your awareness to any thoughts which may be arising and no need to push them away.
Just let them arrive and leave again.
As you rest here gently returning your attention to your breath and your breathing into your body.
And now bringing into your mind the image of a white landscape.
Snow,
Ice and pale pink arctic skies.
And now as you bring your white quiet landscape into focus.
Noticing how the sun glints on the snow.
Perhaps in your white landscape there's water or maybe not.
But now as you lie here breathing warm and safely supported by the surface on which you rest.
Seeing something moving in the distance.
And as you bring your full awareness into your snowy scene.
Seeing a fox.
An arctic fox running across its icy home.
Noticing the shape of your fox.
Maybe you're with a small young fox or an older and wiser one.
But noticing now the contours of its body and how it carries its thick warm tail all alone for a moment in its snowy landscape.
Hunting its food alert with its senses.
Contented and at ease in its icy home.
And as you rest here now with your beautiful white landscape and your arctic fox.
Becoming aware of the eyes of your fox.
Beautiful amber eyes peering straight back at you.
Wise,
Calm.
Knowing that in each and every moment it will find what it needs.
Using all its gifts.
Bowing for warmth.
Feeding its large litters with satisfaction.
Finding a strong mate.
Resting.
Sleeping.
Using its fat tail to warm its body.
Breathing in its cool air.
Seeking out its own prey.
Completing the cycles of life with graceful freedom.
And no matter what each day may bring.
Hungry polar bears.
Predator man.
Storms of snow.
Arrival for its hunting grounds.
A sore limb.
It continues with calm acceptance.
With equanimity.
With the joy of life.
Running.
Jumping.
Whatever may come at peace in its icy home.
And seeing yourself now as your fox.
Seeing your eyes peering straight back at you.
Wise.
Calm.
Knowing that in each and every moment you can find what you need.
And when the challenges come.
Calm acceptance.
Courage.
Using your own gifts.
Feeling your strengths.
Breathing through.
Breathing with.
With your own warm coat of inner love.
Resting.
And moving through your own landscape once more.
Your breath and the fox's breath as one now.
So as you breathe out he breathes in.
Sharing the same cool clear air of the earth.
And so gently coming away from your fox.
And your white icy landscape.
Letting it go.
And feeling yourself breathing here now.
In your own strong body.
Focusing fully onto your breath once more.
Onto the in breath.
And the out breath.
And simply bringing your full awareness to this moment right now.
Noticing your breath.
Breathing it in and breathing it out.
Filling your lungs with a fresh breath in each and every moment.
And when you hear the chime.
Gently opening your eyes.
Wriggling your fingers and toes.
And taking a stretch in whatever way feels right for you.
And perhaps a smile.
May the calm resourceful joy of the arctic fox be with you in your coming week.
Blessings.
