The Arthur Series Breakfast Arthur is hungry.
He jumps out of his bed and has a big stretch.
He trots over to his lady and sits down in front of her.
He sits very,
Very still and stares straight up at her.
But she's not listening.
She's cooking some bacon on the big cooker.
Arthur can hear it sizzling.
It smells good.
Now he's very hungry.
He looks up at his lady again.
He says,
But she's singing.
The hills are alive.
Arthur's tummy is rumbling and his lady is singing even louder now.
Do a dear,
She sings.
Then she starts to jump up and down.
Games,
Thinks Arthur.
Chase,
Thinks Arthur.
Nip,
Thinks Arthur.
And he chases his lady round the wooden table.
He chases the bobble on her slipper that swings as she dances.
He catches it.
Grrr,
Said Arthur as he tugs it.
Grrr.
Arthur,
Scolds his lady.
He looks up at her face.
She stopped singing.
Oh,
Thinks Arthur.
His tummy rumbles.
His lady hears it.
Oh,
You poor little thing,
She says.
Bending down,
She picks up his silver bowl and fills it with his food and a tiny piece of delicious bacon.
Arthur sniffs the air.
Yum,
He thinks.
Oof,
He says.
The bowl clinks on the hard floor and Arthur dips his black nose inside,
His floppy white ears shaking as he gobbles it up.
The end.
