Tiger in the Dell.

These planet meditations are designed for you to sit with the beautiful elements and wildlife and all its glorious creation on our earth.

As you quiet yourself to be here right now,

They can be used to return you to your sense of oneness with the whole planet or you could simply enjoy them and relax.

I hope you can use them in a way that resonates for you.

Settling yourself into a comfortable sitting position or lying down.

And I invite you to close your eyes now or keep a soft focus.

Perhaps take a couple of full breaths,

Feeling the air entering and leaving your body as you give yourself this time.

Breathing slowly in and then out.

Sitting with an upright but relaxed posture,

Dropping your shoulders and breathing with ease.

Relaxing your hands,

Softening your jaw and just breathing gently in and out.

Focusing on the feeling of being right here,

Right now,

In this moment.

Nothing else to do but simply focusing on your breath,

Sensing it entering and leaving your body.

Letting yourself pause here,

Breathing.

And now perhaps you can begin to be aware of sounds around you as your breath flows in and out.

See if you can notice sounds with a gentle curiosity just noticing no need to follow the sound in your thoughts.

Simply letting them be and returning to the sensation of your breath,

Entering and leaving your lungs.

Letting your mind be at ease.

Whatever thoughts,

All physical body sensations or emotions that may arise.

Perhaps you can sense your own rhythm of breathing as the air flows gently in and out of your lungs.

Maybe you can feel it moving somewhere else in the body,

Noticing whatever you can of the breath.

Is it cold or warm?

Resting gently in its soft,

Capable rhythm.

No effort,

Calm,

At ease.

Just seeing whatever comes up for you in this moment and breathing at ease.

Aware of this breath and this moment as you sit or lie,

Safely supported.

And now bringing into your mind's eye the image of a forest jungle.

Perhaps it's a forest jungle you've seen or visited.

Seeing your forest now with more focus.

Bringing it closer into your mind as you rest here,

Noticing its colours,

The shades and colours in your forest.

Perhaps there are dark patches where the light can't reach.

Still full of life that thrives and teems here.

Or perhaps it's a sunny,

Open part of your forest and the sounds of the birds fill the vast spaces with echoes of their cries.

And maybe your part of the forest sits high on a mountain ridge with the air flowing through its canopy,

Filling it with freshness as you stand at its edge.

However your forest is today,

Just seeing it in its full colour.

Noticing the slight changes in the leaf,

In the branch,

In all the flora which fills it with its vibrant life.

Hearing the sounds of the small life of the insects,

Maybe close by humming,

Buzzing,

Busy with their moment to moment life.

And now as you fill your eyes with its rich colours and your ears with its layers and layers of sound,

Lying or sitting here now,

Safely supported by the surface on which you rest,

You hear a different sound,

A new sound.

And as you bring your full awareness to this new sound,

You hear it's the sound of a tiger,

A large tiger,

Busy leading her young to Adele.

Now bringing her fully into your mind's eye,

The beauty of her face markings,

Of her cheeks,

As she licks and comforts her young.

The stripes of sunshine filtering through the trees,

Highlighting the contrasts of her beautiful fur,

Keeping her safe in her habitat,

Helping her live her life in peace and freedom.

As you breathe in the scent of your tiger in your mind's eye,

She swings her head round and looks directly at you.

And the wisdom of her amber eyes holds you still.

You understand that she and you share this force of life,

This planet earth.

And just as she roams the acres of her forest,

Of her habitat,

Keeping the balance and beauty of her forest jungle as it must.

So you come here to roam the places of your life,

To live your life in balance.

And her wisdom and calm courage is yours.

And you can even protect her even as she protects her young.

For she keeps her earth beautiful and you and she are one on this earth.

Her fate is your fate.

Her joys are your joys.

Her beauty and wisdom is your beauty and wisdom.

Her air is your air.

So leaving her with her cubs now and breathing as you slowly leave the forest,

Your forest of colour and life.

And hearing your own breath now as you breathe in and out and bringing your full awareness back to your body now resting here.

Breathing in your own natural ebb and flow and feeling the movements in your body.

Focusing fully into your body.

Sensing the air on your face bringing a gentle attention to your shoulders,

Upper arms,

Down into your wrists,

From your back to your stomach and down through your hips into your legs,

Calves and finally your feet.

Feeling the fullness of your body and beginning to notice the sounds in the room around you now.

And when you're ready gently move your wrists and ankles wriggling your fingers and toes and may the tiger's wisdom and sense of connection with your shared earth be with you this week.

Blessings.
