Today,
We're going to reconnect with ourselves.
Take a moment,
Find a position that feels good to you,
And allow your body to settle.
If it feels good to you,
I invite you to close your eyes.
Take a moment here and notice your breath.
Feel the sensations of the inhale and sensations of the exhale.
Feel the belly expand and the chest rise as you take a deep breath in.
And as you let go,
Allow your body to settle even more into the ground.
With this next breath,
Scan through your body from the top of your head all the way down your toes.
Notice any tension that you might still be holding on to,
And let it go.
Find space in the jaw,
Allow the shoulders to relax away from the ears,
And your hands to rest.
Notice if your mind has wandered.
Maybe you feel it's becoming more distracted with a to-do list or jumping around from thought to thought.
Remind yourself that it is completely okay.
It is normal for our mind to wander.
So if it has,
Gently bring your attention back to your breath.
With your next breath,
Take a moment to be with the sensations in your body,
Your emotions,
Your thoughts,
Without feeling like you need to push them away,
But just welcoming whatever is here.
See if you can connect to the feeling of spaciousness,
And if that doesn't feel possible right now,
Just notice.
Notice what's happening in your body.
And if you're able to,
Rest in the spaciousness of this moment.
Let your mind ease your breath,
And ease your heart open.
For this meditation,
I want you to think about who you are,
And notice the thoughts that arise.
As you breathe,
See if you can connect to the essence of who you really are.
Not your title,
Not your identity,
Not your role,
But your essence.
Connect to your basic goodness,
Your moral core.
Notice the sensations in your body.
Notice any emotions that arise.
Rest in the space of really remembering who you are.
And from this place of remembering,
See if you can recall a time when you were able to make visible who you really are.
It could be a moment of connection with someone,
A moment when your values were made visible in your words or actions.
A decision that was aligned with your morals.
See if you can bring that experience into your awareness.
What do you notice?
What do you feel in your body?
This wholeness in your body that you feel.
See if you can breathe into it,
Wherever it lives in your body.
Know that this is a space of ease.
A space that you can return to over and over again.
When you feel confused,
Or conflicted,
Or uncertain.
You can tap into it anytime.
So take a few moments to connect to the feeling of being home in your body.
Being home in your mind and in your heart.
And if it doesn't feel accessible right now,
Just notice that.
Without the need to change it,
Or without judgment,
Or without attaching any story to it.
When we're able to allow our minds to rest,
Our bodies to find ease,
And our emotions to be balanced.
We have the opportunity to strengthen our connection to our wholeness.
That wholeness then becomes our resource.
A compass to guide us.
So take this moment to bring your palms to your chest.
And repeat this softly to yourself.
May I be willing to let go of what no longer serves me.
May I invite a wise hope for the future to emerge.
Thank yourself for this time.
For this practice.
Because you are here.
You showed up for you.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes from bottom to top.
