What do you do when a trigger activates fear, anger, grief, shame, or another overwhelming emotion? In this talk, Energy Healing Practitioner John Steen explores how to recognize activation in both the mind and body, bring gentle presence to what you’re feeling, and stay with yourself without becoming overwhelmed. Drawing from his own healing journey, John introduces simple somatic practices, including resourcing, titration, and pendulation, and explores how triggers can sometimes bring us into contact with interrupted or unfinished emotional responses from earlier in life. Rather than forcing a release or chasing a wound, you’ll be invited to listen to your body, work within your capacity, and allow healing to unfold in its own time. The goal isn’t intensity. The goal is presence. And staying with yourself doesn’t mean remaining inside the pain continuously—it means learning not to abandon yourself in relationship to the pain. *Please note: This talk discusses emotional triggers and vulnerable experiences. It is intended for educational and supportive purposes and does not replace professional mental health care.*
