Welcome to this meditation for joy.
When you're ready to begin.
Find a comfortable spot.
It could be lying down,
Could be seated,
Just even on your couch is perfect.
Don't give too much thought to it.
Just go where you feel led.
And when you're ready.
.
.
Very slowly and mindfully closing your eyes so we can delve into this meditation.
Let's take a deep breath together through the nose.
And then a long,
Slow exhale through the nose.
Relaxing in the knowing.
All the pieces of your life.
Are working together.
Even if you can't see the whole picture yet.
Even when we can't see the whole picture and we're feeling a lack of joy in our lives.
We can strive to find joy.
And even the littlest things to boost our mood.
And science has actually proven that joy may do things like reduce inflammation,
Boost the immune system,
And protect your DNA.
I read that people that have higher levels of joy and happiness have a longer life expectancy.
Let's play.
Let's see if we can bring some more joy into our lives.
I invite you to let your whole being know.
The joy is welcome here.
Often our stories,
Those things we tell ourselves,
Those thoughts we let into our mind,
They lead us to that negative place,
That lack of a joyful space.
And sometimes we just need to tell ourselves.
Joy is welcome here.
Joy is welcome here.
I often on days where I'm having some challenges,
Just repeat that as a mantra.
Joy is welcome here.
Joy is welcome here.
Start to feel your body relax into maybe some joy.
Allow the jaw to loosen and the body to soften.
Allow your heart to feel more spacious.
Often when we're feeling that lack of joy,
Our heart can feel constricted,
Our chest tightens.
Give yourself permission to feel a spaciousness there.
Opening your heart.
Now imagine.
.
.
Beautiful breeze.
That's moving.
Through the air.
It's not a forceful breeze,
Just a playful light breeze.
And as you inhale,
You feel that breeze lifting any heaviness that you may be experiencing.
And then when you exhale,
You're creating more space for joy to open inside you.
Let's continue with this breath practice.
So as you feel this breeze,
You inhale it.
And you feel that that breeze is lifting any doubt.
Happiness,
Negativity.
Any upset,
Any challenges.
It's lifting in a way,
It's carrying me.
It'll weigh in that breeze that you're feeling.
And then when you exhale.
Make that exhale long and slow.
And feel a space of joy continue to open inside you.
Let's play with that once more.
Using the power of your visualization,
Imagine that breeze.
Moving through your inner landscape.
And it's lifting anything that's not joyful away from you.
It's carrying it.
It's blowing in the wind.
You don't even need to know where it goes.
It just goes away.
And then as you exhale,
You've opened that space to allow joy to come inside.
Bring your awareness to your heart center.
Very focused.
And see they're a little light.
It's kind of like the flicker of a candle.
And now with each inhale,
I want you to allow that spark to grow.
Because now that we've cleared away the heaviness,
We can make room for that spark.
With each exhale.
That spark glows brighter.
So again,
Inhale and see that spark grow.
It's now spreading across your ribs,
Your shoulders,
Your throat,
Your whole torso.
And as you exhale,
The spark is just brighter.
It grows brighter.
This spark is helping fill you with more joy.
Again,
Inhaling and feel that spark grow.
And as you exhale,
It's still glowing brighter and brighter.
Allowing you to experience more joy growing in your body,
Mind,
And spirit.
Imagine that joy inside you.
Feel its presence within you relaxed,
Open.
Let it breathe like a smile from the inside out.
Give yourselves an opportunity to remember what joy feels like.
Let's continue to breathe more joy into the body.
Inhale and feel brightness.
You might even continue to see that spark.
Exhale a softness.
And then you inhale,
And you're starting to feel more and more alive within your being.
You exhale,
Everything feels more easeful.
Inhale.
See that spark grow brighter?
See your spirit grow brighter?
And exhale into that softness.
Good beauty.
Inhale and you're feeling so alive and energetic.
And exhaling.
You're right.
You're like,
Wow,
This is easy.
Just sit with that for a moment.
You might feel that light,
That spark settling into your whole being.
You might feel that breath settling into your whole being.
And that wind washing through you.
Joy fills you now.
You're grounded with joy.
Your body softens.
You might feel a little smile across your face.
Joy is not something that we need to go chasing after.
It's something we can simply allow to be.
And be with them.
You can awaken joy within you whenever you need a mood boost.
Before we conclude our meditation,
I ask you this.
What brings you joy?
And let whatever arises be simple.
Joy doesn't have to be anything giant.
Oftentimes,
It's something very small.
And whatever it is that you brought to mind that brings you joy.
I want you to hold on to that.
And whenever you're feeling a lack of joy.
Bring that to mind.
Hold it and feel it.
Envision it.
And see that smile maybe come again across your face.
I'm going to give you just a moment of silence,
And I invite you to just be present in the moment,
Keeping joy present.
And then when you're ready to return from our time together here,
Start to bring a little movement to your body,
Including a smile.
And very slowly and gently and mindfully opening your eyes.
And I thank you so much for joining me for this meditation.
I wish you joy.
