Welcome to this self-compassion practice for anyone.
Who lives with a relentless inner critic.
This is often felt particularly by people who have a Virgo moon or strong Virgo placements.
The moon is your emotional inner world.
And an earth moon in Virgo soothes itself through order.
Through usefulness.
And getting things right.
While that can be wonderful,
The shadow of that is a powerful inner critic.
That voice that notices every flaw and never lets you off the hook.
You are almost certainly kinder to other people than you are to yourself.
So this practice is about turning some of that care inwards.
And gently turning the critic down.
And so settle comfortably.
And let your hands rest in your lap or by your side.
There is nothing to perfect here.
There is no right way of doing this.
You cannot do this wrong.
Take a slow breath in.
And let it out completely at your own pace.
And notice if part of you is already checking whether you're doing this right.
That is The Critic.
Just say hi to it.
You don't have to argue with it.
The critic believes it is helping.
It's keeping you safe by keeping you sharp.
So we're not going to fight it.
It's on your side.
Is doing its best.
We're going to thank it.
And then we're going to ask it to soften.
To just quietly say thank you.
But I've got this from here.
And place a hand on your tummy.
Where Virgo tension often sits.
Breathe into your hands.
And with each out breath.
Just let a little of the holding go You don't have to earn rest.
You don't have to be useful to be worthy.
And if that inner critic comes up.
I can just remind it.
Thank you for trying.
Thank you for trying to keep me safe and on the path.
I can do it.
I've got it for now.
And you can offer your critic and yourself one truth.
Gentle sentence.
You might say something like,
I'm doing my best and my best is enough.
Or sympathy.
I am enough as I am right now.
With nothing else added.
Say it slowly to yourself.
I am enough as I am.
Right now.
Let it be more than words.
And now I'm going to let you stay with the quiet for a moment.
And the critic may pipe up again,
And that is fine.
You know that you can turn the volume down.
And when you're ready,
Take a breath.
And come gently back to the room and the space.
And know that however you did this meditation practice,
You did it perfectly.
For this simple reason.
But he didn't.
You are enough.
You always were.
Thank you so much for sharing your space with me today.
Have a wonderful day.
