Walking in the mountains,
A walking meditation.
Begin by standing still for a moment.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs with cool,
Fresh mountain air.
Breathe out slowly,
Releasing any tension you're carrying.
Feel the earth steady beneath your feet.
Imagine you are at the start of a quiet,
Mountain path,
Surrounded by towering peaks and open sky.
Begin to walk slowly and mindfully.
Feel each step as it connects with the ground,
Heel,
Sole,
Toes.
Notice the slight lift of your foot,
The movement through the air,
And the placement again on the earth.
There's no rush.
With each step,
Feel yourself becoming more present,
More connected to the moment.
As you walk,
See the landscape around you.
Tall evergreens sway gently in the breeze.
Birdsong echoes softly through the valley.
The sun warms your skin.
Or perhaps there's a light,
Refreshing breeze brushing your face.
Let the beauty of the mountains fill your senses.
Notice colors,
Textures,
And the way the light dances across the landscape.
Now,
Bring awareness to your breath again.
Breathe in deeply,
And breathe out slowly.
Imagining you're drawing in the crisp,
Clean air of the mountains.
Feel it energize your body.
And breathe out slowly,
Releasing any remaining tension or worry.
With each breath,
Feel lighter as though you are blending into the peaceful energy of the mountains around you.
As you continue walking,
Bring to mind a sense of gratitude.
Gratitude for your body and mind.
Gratitude for your breath.
For the chance to walk freely in this beautiful space.
See the beauty all around you,
The creation laid out before you.
See the mountains standing tall,
And the sky stretching wide above you.
It's amazing to be part of this vast,
Beautiful world.
Each step you take is an act of presence,
Of living fully in this moment.
Begin to slow your pace slightly.
Take a few final,
Deep breaths.
Feel the strength in your legs,
The rhythm of your breath,
And the peace within you.
And when you're ready,
Bring the sense of calm,
Gratitude,
And connection with you,
As you return to your day.
The mountains are within you,
Steady,
Peaceful,
And strong.
May your day be filled with wonder and joy.
Namaste.
